Good morning.

I was in Frederick yesterday and saw a big car wash place in front of the Wallyworld.

The line wasn't too bad and it moved fast. The $16 "standard" wash did the undercarriage. Overall it wasn't too bad, the painted surfaces got cleaned. The undercarriage needs some more attention.

 

Last time I went through the touchless the arm kept hitting the front fender. It didn’t go far enough forward. The undercarriage spray didn’t do much either.

That said, it barely helped and the was still a layer of grime when it was finished.


Looks like Wednesday would be a great day to wash the truck. High in the 50s…

 

Schools are closed tomorrow, so I’ll be home with the minions… think I’ll get there pressure washer fired up and hit the truck and car. Think it’ll be just under 50 in the sun, that’ll work for me.

 

Oh come on now... I threw on my insulated coveralls and just did my truck by hand. That also included pressure washing the complete underside. I hate the cold so if I can do it, you can

 

lol well today I could certainly have done it outside, I was more worried about the pipes freezing than me being cold

However I was out running errands today and there wasn’t a line at the car wash for once so I went through and then spent a while cleaning it up with my ceramic detail spray when I got home. Looks like brand new again

 

I wasn't too worried about that. It's a frost free bibb so I just unhooked the hose when I was done. I imagine the neighbors thought I was crazy though

 

And now they get to admire the shiny clean truck!

 

I'm in big Ford/Chevy/Ram territory, they won't even look

 

Why do you even care? Truck will be gone by end of 2026, rust ain’t your problem!

 

I can't be driving around in a dirty vehicle...

 

I feel this deeply.

 

We have black trucks, there is nothing but a dirty truck

 

You guys gave me an idea that includes my ramps and power washing machine.

Since my frame is professionally coated and they inspect it and reapply a coating to any problem spots yearly, I only wash my under carriage a couple times during the winter and that’s about it.

I'm watching the Game and can do it tomorrow.
