Getting rid of the stock fuel tank entirely. I don't want to carry Jerry cans ever again

Well that works, my buddy has one in his headache rack thing Plumbed directly into the neck of his fuel tank, turn a valve and fill it up.

but it's really bad at sloshing fuel on the fill cap

And roughly 250lbs. Getting all that weight low will be nice, and if you can get it centered even nicer.

It will be both of those things thankfully. Plus I get to delete the stock tank which removes some of the weight impact and the side specific impact

Man my phone sleeps Chrome tabs really fast these days, it isn't a RAM issue, shows I have 12g free still. Kinda annoying for it to reload a tab you just swiped away from for 5mins

3M makes an application wand set that fits onto any aerosol can. The 3M cavity wax is supposed to be permanent, while the fluid film needs to be reapplied every year.

I bought the fluid film by the gallon pail, it's really thick puddling like stuff but I had a paint shaker at work to thin it down. To spray it, I also used vegetable oil (per its instructions) to thin it. Felt weird walking into the kitchen and getting cooking oil and walking into the body shop to mix it into a spray gun, lol.

Yeah it's probably best not to just do that in the living room

Buuuuut hoping this local shop near me has reasonable pricing on their powder coating.

It'd be just like the shop I worked at, they just toss it up on the line if they're doing the color you request that day.

Black is always the cheapest, or whatever color they do the most in large quantities

At the shop I worked at, they had an entire chain for doing black only.

They were doing over 2,000 coils per day, among other orders.

It was only the smaller buildings that varied it up in color from one day to the next but yeah you're right, black is cheap cause there's always demand for it so it's being done often.

But when I called Friday, the gal said "depending what color we're doing that day" so it seems like it may be a smaller operation and aren't doing black as often. If it's affordable enough per set of parts, I'd actually be willing to include powder coat in my stiffeners at no extra cost. This way I can develop a relationship with the shop and get other stuff done.

I'd just ask for black honestly, keep things simple

    Yep, black is the plan.

All the parts get hidden anyway so color won't matter.

When are you buying a set?

There is a guy up in the bay area who just moved to PA. I'm sure his cabinet is just sitting there.
