Funny too cause when he was here, he was telling me about his powder coating setup and all.

All of it can be done at home but man, there's a whole learning curve there.

I hear the HF are good to go, after modifying it cause they leak a lot.

You're pretty meticulous. I'm sure you will have it dialed in pretty quick.

I need to get a welding cart for the garage. I was thinking HF and just beefing it up.

Yeeeah, but don't give me too much credit. It's my "hyperfocus" that let's me be meticulous

Dedicating a space for welding/shock rebuilding?! I'm excited.

In the time of modern IDEs my peers look on in horror as I use vim daily for git and logs

Sometimes the old ways are best.

Sometimes a good IDE is better.

I occasionally listen in on other developers debating the merits of different IDEs/editors or keyboard layouts and I wonder how long it would take the efficiency gains they're talking about to make up for the time they've wasted talking about them.

My vim use is limited to git commit messages and the occasional rebase. I like it for that but it'd take years for me to figure out how to use it as efficiently as I can use Visual Studio for coding.

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Were you able to prep the inside of the frame past spraying it out with water?

I don't really know what this game is but it's painfully accurate with the Oregon lottery signs all over, I used to live in Vancouver I recognized literally every one of these roads in Portland. Even the bridge to Astoria was accurate

I have roughly the same range with the van and let me tell ya, it is a game changer. According to my spreadsheet, my running theoretical total range averages 640miles per tank. It's been real nice on trips to just not have to think about it, at all. Just know, you might have to get used to pre-paying inside when you go do a full fillup. At your local prices, you could be looking at $150 if you're rolling in on fumes.

Yeah the pre-paying would be essential up here for sure on an empty tank. But the amount of times I'd have to do it over a trip would be great, I hate when we are somewhere like rural MT or anywhere in CA and have to find fuel. Could forget about it for the entire time I'm in CA on a normal trip which would be awesome.

I got this one from HF and it's pretty solid. Even the drawers are sturdy and smooth. I'm pretty sure I used a discount and didn't pay full price ($180)

That's a pretty good one, actually most of the HF ones are. My only thing would be to use that shiny new welder to attach some larger wheels that don't suck to roll around the shop floor

Exactly. Like our Montana trip where a couple of you had to run out to get fuel. Not only not having to worry about it, you also know that you have the right fuel and don't have to worry about if they have 91 octane.
