Good morning driver's hope everyone has a great day today and stay safe and warm.
Our area of the plant is now called shantytown.
We put metal sheets on the dumpster and it made it warmer and slowed the burn down .

Finally we are caught up after the Christmas break. Took a while because the receiving operation was moved into a new addition to the warehouse which wasn’t actually ready to be occupied Anyway we made it. First time since early December that we’ve left there on Friday night with no loads left on the yard.

We have all 4 of our tractors parked inside again for the weekend. Supposed to get down into the teens again Sunday night/Monday morning. Trucks and trailers are all trashed with road salt. If you touch one anywhere your all white and salty. My black carhart is getting washed often to remove salt stains.

It's just nice to have. Wish I would have never let mine lapse. Definitely too old to go through that training again with a bunch of kids.

Good morning driver's it's Monday like @woodtickgreg said. Back to the river for me.
I go renew my CDL at the end of February, even though I am not using it at this time doesn't mean I won't use it in the future. 9 years till retirement for me.

I used to. Now I'm a Commercial Construction Superintendent. The wife & her son team drive for Hobby Lobby. She wanted me to go drive with her. But I'm already on the road with this job. Plus the money is much better. So it wasn't worth it to get the CDL back. Besides she wanted to see all I go see, What I already saw. From our conversations I made the right choice.

Shortly after I retired, my med card was up for renewal. I didn't renew it and switched my CDL to tier 4. If I have to renew my driver license for anything, I'm going to drop the CDL. I've decided that I'm comfortable where I'm at financially and won't go back to driving commercially.

All this talk about retirement. Tomorrow we wade into those waters. My wife turns 65 this year ( yeah she’s a cougar, I will turn 63) so we have a consult with our primary care providers group’s benefit expert to start exploring Medicare options for her.

I plan to try to pick up an insurance plan outside of work so we can both retire at the same time. Hopefully that we be feasible. I will consult with a retirement planner soon to work on those details. There’s a lot of work involved in not working lol.
