Has anyone installed their scanguage on a 4th gen? I moved mine from 3G to
My 4G and the torque converter temp is not showing up. I wanted to ‘calibrate’ my trans temp gauge on the truck to the values in the scangauge.

Their website says no known incompatibility for the II and III. Probably going to have to contact them.

Have you done the xgauge scans? I can't remember where exactly i set it up but I do get transmission temps for my 24' on my SG3. doing the xgauge scan found about 20 extra parameters for my hybrid.

Yes, I was able to pull the transmission temps on the Scangauge. I don't recall which one I used. I had to try several of the trans temp codes in order to see which one worked. There appears to be at least two locations that send temp data to the ECU. One in the torque converter, the other somewhere else in the transmission. I didn't see much of a difference between the values.

I did also find this one if you are curious about torque converter lockup:

Description TXD RXF RXD MTH NAME Notes
    Torque Converter Lock Up Status (On/Off) 0700221A80 C462251A3680 3701 000100010000 TCL 4.22+

The most useful X Gauge settings I found:
    Gear
    Engine Oil Temp
    Coolant temp
    Intake air temp
    Transmission / torque converter temp
    Ignition advance / retard

Gear is one I just like to see because the truck gives no indication on the actual gear its in.

Torque converter lockup is interesting. The tow/haul seems to affect this more than merely adjusting the shift points. There's probably quite a bit of communication between the ECU and the transmission, to the point where the transmission itself seems to do a good bit of controlling of the engine for safety and efficiency.

I was hoping that just plugging in would give me the same info as my 2023 gen3. I will do some more searching. Thank you. I have a scangauge 2

I have an SGIII, and I’ve set all three screens to display a combination of ice, hybrid, and other relevant functions. Comparing the readouts to the dashboard gauges confirmed that the MAX gauge is essentially useless. The SOC shows 65% at full charge, and I’ve never seen it drop below 55%. Yet, when looking at the dashboard gauge, it always appears to be less than fully charged. Using the SG, I can see that both the MG2 and HB battery are contributing to propelling the truck. I just wish the SG had data logging capabilities.

TFL did a tow test with a TrailHunter and was able to read temps with a scan gauge. So it’s doable..

I have the Scangauge II. I had it in my 3rd generation and switched it to my 4th generation, but I haven’t been able to configure the transmission temperature. I only have the basics. I’ll share an image of it.

This works for trans temp on the SGII for the 2024 Tacoma transmission temps:

    Transmission Fluid Temp 1 (℉)
    TXD:
    0701221AAA
    RXF: C462051A36AA
    RXD: 3008
    MTH: 00090005FFD8
    Name: TFT

I am currently using this exact setting. Likely the transmission oil pan sensor, not the torque converter sensor as I thought above. This is a 2021+ only code.

    Link to verify:

    » Toyota Trans Temp 1 2015+ 3.5L Equipped Toyota / Lexus

Untested, but this may be the torque converter oil temp XGauge:
    Auto Transmission Temperature ATF(B)
    TXD 0700221AC0
    RXF C462051A36C0
    RXD 3008
    MTH 00010001FFD8

Verify your tool has the 4.22+ firmware. I had to send mine in for a flash since it hadn't been updated since 2008 when I first got one. They charged me $25. Still working as intended 17 years later, FYI. Great product.

Here's what I'm using for engine oil temp:

    Engine Oil Temp (°F)
    TXD: 0700227A5C
    RXF: C462057A365C
    RXD: 3008
    MTH: 00090005FFD8
    Name: EOT

I’ve heard back from scangauge customer service and TFT2 - torque converter output fluid temp is not reported in the 2024 Tacoma.
