A well balanced diet including all vegetable meals are both healthy and beneficial to overall health. We are in complete agreement regarding the health benefits of a balanced diet especially avoiding processed foods.

You demonize individuals for exposing tired old arguments used to defend hunting and meat eating, but trumpet the same biased and sensational arguements of vegan's. Pot calling the kettle black

Of course the conditions of a slaughterhouse are awful. It's a killing field! The sole purpose is to kill and process animals. It does not bother me to think about it because it's exactly what I expect. Animals being killed and chopped up for food!

Human beings like our primate cousins are by design are both predators and scavengers. This is less needed now due to our ability to harvest and cultivate crops. Just because a meatless diet is deemed "acceptable" by medical science ignores out basic human design evolved to run on a mixed or omnivorous diet.

I see that no one has come forward to rebuff my earlier comments on how you, by definition, cannot truly be a vegan.

To be human is to be an omnivore. I can understand not eating something because it doesn't agree with you. I do not understand the hippocracy that I see from the veggie-huggers. No hippocracy here. I eat things from land, sea, and air, just like God intended.
You cannot truly be a vegan, and, correct me if I am wrong, vegetarians must take pills to furnish what they don't get from meat anymore. How can that be healthy, and from what is it derrived?

More hyperbole....Those are SOME big animals...but so are Orca Whales, Tigers, Lions, Komodo Dragons, many insects etc and they all eat meat.

Protein is a ridiculously broad term. Yes all proteins are made up of similar building blocks and the same amino acids are found it both plant and animal tissues. But the difference between animal and plant tissues are so ridiculously vast in both the types and concentration of specific amino acids. The building blocks of animal tissue like a steak in it's amino acid chains and their concentrations much more similar to those being used to build human tissue than a plant stalk.

It stands to reason that the "protein" of an animal would be more efficiently incorporated into another animal versus that of a carrot. Of course plant tissues can still be used or else vegans wouldn't survive, but I would bet that the efficiency is different. If a vegan diet was more efficient in building animal muscle it would be the standard diet of all body builders and athletes looking for a competitive advantage.
