Does anyone have the ovtune supercharger kit on their 3rd gen 3.5?

No clue. By few you mean 1 (maybe 2 people). You can probably search through that 600+ page thread to find the person that originally bought the supercharger because I recall there being a shipping delay mentioned in there somewhere.

 

The only way I’d consider doing this, is if I could install and tune myself, and if this was a weekend vehicle, not a DD.

 

Dang I didn’t think it would be that little, I can’t believe I found one being sold so close to me

 

I can install and tune myself but it is my DD we do have other cars in the household so I wouldn’t completely be SOL if something went wrong

Was offered some good deals for the magnuson stuff with discounts even but even I still turned it down. The tune and regear I got was good enough.

 

I'd be more concerned w/ the ability to tune it than the kit itself.
If its been on there for a couple thousand miles it'll likely last a couple thousand more. That compressor looks like a rotax or whatever name they're going by now.

Why would anyone want a supercharger on a 3.5 tacoma is beyond me.

 

terrible engine for a truck application with its very high powerband but unreliable it definitely is not. even the REAL least reliable v6 toyota used the 3vz was generally considered "reliable"

 

My truck disagrees.



I use my truck for work (tow my trailer), unless im on steep hills my RPMs dont go above 3K RPMs. Not towing my tach barely sees 2.5K RPMs.

I really dont understand this complaint.

these are midsized trucks not F250s.

 

Lol.. some 4 cylinder owners get awful upset about the V6's extra 117 hp and 88 ft lb of torque.
