Day 2, but it's off because HWY2 is closed for the winter.. probably be closer to 9.5 hours without the massive detour.

Thanks! Although, I can't take credit for the actual work. It was done by a friend of a coworker. It came out as close to a match to the OEM matte carbon as I could have asked for.

I've definitely noticed more parity in parts between the Piaggio brands lately.

I think that weekend is also on the new circuit! I might be down, if you decide to do it.

yeah it is. Grew up dayhiking the trail. Had done all of it North of NY by the time I was out of high school. Have done other bits here and there all the way to GA. I get on it for at least a bit every year, in either NH or Maine, where all of my family resides. Being a through hiker is a bucket list item that is getting more and more unlikely as time passes.

Would that be Chet? I know of him through Guzzi circles but had no idea he was affiliated with the GLMC. Small world. I hope he recovers fully, and soon. If not him, as this happens to far too many, I hope the same for this guy of course.

Curious what your point total was that earned you the plaque.

Gentleman's name is Lee so not your Guzzi acquaintance.

I finished with 175 points last year, second was 176, and first was over 600. For my second place finish the year before I visited 1012 murals and lost to someone I know who visited 1200 plus. We're kind of slow at work right now so I'll be working on route for after March 1.

Well, setting the bar pretty high right out the gate! Looks like I'll have to 'work' on this.

With March 1 being a Saturday that works out nicely. Central PA has a lot of small towns which does give me a little advantage in stuff like this. I've already made lists of suitable towns and any nearby Harley dealerships particularly ones in towns starting with GLM or C since they're 2 points. I have one route worked out so far in Basecamp that will yield enough points for finisher status and it's not even 200 miles. It helps that the criteria to be "old" is pretty liberal.

I'll probably do what I've done in the past which is to tie this event in with some of the FJR forum events we attend. I already know the locations for 3 FJR events and likely a 4th so I'll be working on GLMC bonuses in those areas as well. I've been told i get a bit "obsessive" with these events.....

Similar. Did some mapping last night, chips being a focus, and certainly, the shirt is a slam dunk. Thinking I won't be challenging anybody for the podium, but i'll 'finish'

In 2023 when the theme was murals I knew there were a lot in my area so I knew finishing was a given. The more I rode and found murals the more I realized I could be a contender.

Just signed up! Hopefully I'll earn the t-shirt at least

Go for it Spencer! Even if you don't complete the full lap in time you can still get a cert for doing 1000mi / 24hr.

Klx300 people! My coworker is wanting to get a backyard ripper. He had a Yamaha ttr125 but sold it because it was too slow for him. He is thinking about the air cooled Honda crf250f I mentioned a klx300r but it’s almost 40lbs heavier than the Honda. Not sure was else is out there for backyard riding he is on 11 acres. Tried to get him to buy a pitbike so we can race but he isn’t having any of it.

tell your coworker to get a honda xr200

the xr200 is better bang for your buck over the newer crf230 and klx300 in terms of backyard ripper that will never die

now if he wanted a street legal tag to ride it on the public roads legally, then ok perhaps the klx300 and crf230 would be a better fit

    but im voting xr200 + 11 acres = :muscleflexing::bikewhoops:

I think he also wants to buy new so he doesn’t inherit somebody else’s issues. He showed me a new YZ250 the other day that he liked

I put a couple hundred miles over the weekend on the new Trailmax Mission tires. When I first started riding I only made it about half a mile down the road before I turned around because I thought I forgot to tighten all the bolts for the wheels.

The ride is way rougher and turn in is a lot slower, though after a few hundred miles I’m not sure if I’m getting used to it or if the tires are wearing in but they’re feeling better now, and were fine for the pace I like to go in the twisties anyways.

With all the spanish named "la" cities should be fairly easy to get a ton of cities and bonus chips I would think
