He seems nice. One of those odd members that is on a dedicated truck forum for enthusiasts to seemingly *checks notes* dump on their own truck(?), especially the 3.5 (despite, you know, the hundreds of thousands of them on the road with no issues whatsoever for the last 10 years, must be junk!). Apparently Toyota has gone down hill for the last 15 years and they no longer produce reliable vehicles. In light of this news, I'm trying to sell mine right now for pennies on the dollar to get out from underneath this POS before it's too late! Oh wait, they have one of the top resale values of any vehicle you can purchase? Clearly the free market doesn't know anything. Stupid Toyota's making me look bad.

The point was not what's towed but the fact that everyone complains how it drives empty and stock but those of us that actually use the trucks as trucks don't find all the same complaints when those complaints should be amplified.

I actually bought this exact kit, installed it and worked with yotawerx remotely on the tune. I’ve been running it for 2300 miles so far with no issues. I’m running 35’s with 5.29 gears, adding the supercharger made a huge difference power wise. It’s no race car but I can pass on the Highway without needing 2 miles to do so. It really just takes the sluggish feel out of the truck and the blowoff valve is a nice party trick.

This comment leaves me totally baffled. I cam from a 2nd gen, with towing, and that truck was a work horse. Then the got a 2020 and what a huge disappointment to me. Empty it shifted too often at highway speeds, for inclines. Towing it was shifting just to maintain speed, this endless cycle of loosing speed, downshifting, two gears, roaring up to speed only to do it again. I drive fairly fast, but even willing to drive at 65 towing did not improve the situation. I was sure it was going to kill the transmission so I locked it two gears down and let it scream, with plans on selling because the truck was clearly not designed for how I use a truck. But to be perfectly clear, I was not asking it to do anything more than how I used the 2009.

Anyhow, the ONLY reason I still own the truck, is because of adding a SC; completely transforms the truck into what it should have been from Toyota. Now it is peasant empty and towing.

I am a little surprised when others are happy with how this truck performs stock empty, and baffled that anyone is happy towing with it; maybe I got a lemon?? But then I would expect that adding the SC would have exposed the lemon weaknesses, sot resolved them.

I'm Happy for those that are happy stock, I prefer stock driveline too, but only if it serves my needs adequately.
