Cassette Player in 2020 Tacoma

Is it possible to wire a cassette player into a 2020 SR5? If so, how?

Welcome to TW! Yes it’s possible, if you get a cassette player make sure you keep a pencil or pen handy to wind the tape back up when the tape deck eats it.

 

Are you wanting a permanent installation? You could just buy portable a cassette player and a 3.5mm aux cord and plug it in like that.

 

Install a record player if you want to be total hipster

 

Yeah, I'm hoping to put something permanent in it. I miss my old trucks with tape decks and was curious if anyone else had ever done anything like it. I would have to do it myself since I live on a tiny island with no audio specialists and the mechanics here are....well, I would have to do it myself lol.

Why not just buy an old truck with a tape deck?

 

You're gonna just have to get a walkman and an aux cable bruh

 

You can install a permanent one but the problem is you will still have to adapt from RCA to a 3.5mm and plug it into the AUX port. Unless someone has tapped into the wires behind the dash to the AUX port. I can see that working but most people have no need to do something like that with a factory radio

There is not cassette player that will fit this generation tacoma so whatever you get will have to be mounted in the glove box or something.

 

Easier said than done where I live.
