so, essentially... the OEM TRD OR shocks and coils are the softest OEM shock. Good enough for light off-roading(fire roads and light trails)... a lot more brake dive and body roll? Decent around town but with substantially more or less roll and dive than the hitachis?

I swapped my 2021 Limited shocks out for 4600's and I can't believe how much better the ride is. Those factory shocks were very jarring even from new. I don't notice anymore or less body roll with the new shocks.

4600 will be a side grade from stock. not an upgrade. waste of time and effort.
Also don't waste your time buying used takeoffs from someone.

I swapped out the ones that came on my off-road for 4600s last month and I can tell you it is a significant difference both on and off road. Definitely less nose dive and body roll.

I emailed Bilstein a while back when replacing my Dads shocks. They confirmed 4600s are the same in performance, diameter (46mm), valving, durability, etc as 5100.
4600 & 5100 are the same shock, except for the option for adjustable ride height and the color.

100% correct. Bilstein confirmed this to me a year ago.
