Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It was kinda sketchy, but you didn't have a lot of choices. It all worked out.

Anyone need a set of new OEM Tacoma shackles? Ordered two sets by accident. Assume they fit both 3rd and 2nd gen’s. $20, pickup in Tosa.

Not trying to be a problem, just need to be enlightened... Do shackles wear out?

I’m replacing my stock leafs with OME Dakars. The new shackles are so I can use poly bushings and not have to remove ones from the existing.

Essentially they make the job easier/faster.

Interesting proposal, but you're still going to have to drill out rivets so... It seems to me like you're trading one issue for another.

When I did Dakar springs, putting the ome bushings into the new springs wasn't a problem since I just slathered them in red grease. As far as getting the old ones out, a little bit of work with a pry bar means they drop right out of the factory shackles. The bushings are actually inside the spring eyelet

Might have stated that wrong. New dakars, new leaf spring bushings. New shackle, new shackle bushing. Not replacing the shackle hanger.

Old shackles and leaf are recycled.

Based on the spelling, I'm not so sure I believe you. ;)

True. It's actually not legal to be sober in Wisconsin after 9pm. That's why people who don't drink stay home in the evenings.

I have the 7/8" 30' Yankum rope in "python" green. Haven't needed it. Yet...

Same. I have a good wide 30' tow strap I picked up at Menards. I believe it's rated for 30K. I've used it at Tigerton and when pulling the remains of my mailbox post out. I should look to get a shorter one too.

Yeah the one I have is from Harbor Freight, probably the same thing but it has no info or tag with a strength rating. I bought it way back when I had the F-150 and didn't know any better. Needed to yank out some bushes.

Anyway, I don't trust it for anything more than some light tugs. That's why I figured I'd get a proper rope. I just decided I'd take advantage of that deal to upgrade my gear. I did go ahead with the 7/8" x 30' Yankum and a couple Bubba Rope soft shackles.
