    EEPROM = Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory. It's similar to flash, but typically has a more limited number of rewrites. Flash can be considered EEPROM, but isn't usually considered that way since it's usually rewritable at the block level rather than having to erase the whole thing to rewrite.
    No biggie. There actually used to be hard drives that were similar to ROM called WORM drives (Write Once Read Many). I haven't heard of anyone using one since the early 90s though.
