Hey how’s it, was wondering what some of the steps were to removing engine I’m swapping it out with the same 2.7. Never done a engine swap before. Done engine work and clutch etc…

I can’t imagine too bad. Disconnect drive line and yank, engine probably weighs under an elephant turd, a few friends and you may not even need a hoist.

It’s kind of like doing a clutch, except you have more fluids to deal with and it comes out the top.
Exhaust can sometimes put up a fight.
Power steering and AC stay with the body.

Take your time and check, recheck, and then check again.
Pulling connectors and wires apart only adds to the work.
    Go slow coming out.

Okay sweet thanks man yeah Ill take my time and if it’s somewhat like a clutch then won’t be too miserable did you drop the granny and crossmember ? That would prob be the easiest to wiggle and install the new engine right

Never done one on a 2.7 Tacoma. My experience is more with Ford Rangers and old Chevrolet cars.
(And Honda civics, but they are front wheel drive)

I’d imagine loosening the mounts would help when getting it apart and back together.
Some times, you have to unbolt the transmission mounts too.

I've done a 4.0 in an 08, it was pretty easy although it was 2wd and automatic.
Yours being a manual 4x4 may make it a bit more complicated depending on how the motor mounts are set up but you should be able to put a floor jack under the transmission to support it when you pull the engine.
As @TnShooter said take it slow and make sure you aren't pulling any wiring or lines as your coming out, it would also be a good idea to pull the radiator and hood to give you more room and avoid damaging them.
Also make sure you use the engine harness and injectors original to your truck to avoid potential issues if you are installing a used engine.

If your removing the transmission first you should have no problem getting the engine out, the Tacoma engine bay is pretty wide open once you get the hood, fan shroud, and radiator out of the way.

I think the A/C compressor and power steering pump can be set off to the side without disconnecting the lines, you can also take pictures if in doubt of remembering how things go.
Generally wiring harnesses are pretty self explanatory when reassembling providing you take care not to break the brackets and clips that hold them in place.
Bolts I find the best thing to do is keep them with each component that's removed so they don't get mixed up.
When you transfer your parts set your engines side by side facing in the same direction and move things over one at a time so you get them back in the correct places.

Something I do, is use cardboard with a rough sketch of where bolts come from.
Then jam bolts in/through the cardboard in relation to where I took them out.
That and buy a bunch of sandwich bags and label them for different components.

I am fixing to put a used engine in my 2007 Tacoma 2.7 as well and wondered about the injectors. So the injectors out of my old engine are needing to be removed and put in new used engine ?

I would if they were running fine in your old engine.

Because when doing a major job like swapping an engine you want as few variables as possible so if you had a known working engine but there is an issue when you get done you have fewer possible suspects if that makes sense. Also while I don't believe it is the case with the 2TR-FE in the Tacoma different vehicles or even the same vehicle but different year model can have different flow rate injectors even though the base engine is identical. Same thing with wiring harnesses, manufacturers often make minor changes here and there that can cause big headaches if you use a harness off a donor engine.

No nothing like that, just like I said if I know everything is good on the old engine I'm using those parts rather than questionable parts off a used engine.
