Can you access the underside of the bar? Maybe you could slide some carriage bolts through from underneath. Might be kind of a pain in the ass, but it would be secure. :D

I think that's going to be the way.

The case is easily accessible from standing on the slider kickout.
I don't plan on bringing it up and down while out. It's just to get gear up and out of the way and still be easy to get at.

Depending on what you have in the case you might not want the bolt threads inside the case where they can damage what you are carrying.

You know what? 2025 has been a motherfucker and we're not even out of January yet. My father-in-law passed away on 1/9 (my wife's birthday) and today I learned that a growth in my dog's mouth is malignant and further surgery likely isn't an option. Doc called it stage 2, which typically means he's got about 6 months. He's doing fine for now, and he's getting all the treats and lovin tonight, but we're pretty bummed.

Getting away from reality and playing trucks this weekend will be very welcome.

He could always put a cap nut on, or cover the bolts somehow.

    Perfect!

Can't "like" this. Sorry to hear this, Dean! I hope things get better, and that you have some good months left with your dog. I hope this weekend is fun!

No likes for you. I hope what they say about 3s is wrong. Tell your wife I send my condolences. Give the doggo extra scratches.

I'm going to just ratchet strap the spare to the bed bars, for now.

I was wondering if I could borrow your expertise to come up with a spare mount using your patent pending 3D holder?
Forgive the crappy sketch but I'm thinking just a bar that can go across the bottom with a threaded post going up through the wheel.? Or something of that nature.20250130_060358.jpg

Maybe they already make something similar, I haven't searched yet.

Give me dimensions and I can have the kids make you something today/tomorrow. Total depth of rod. Total width of plate across bottom. Use the factory "plate" thing on tire? Or make a round plate to fit wheel?

    That'd be cool.
I can check some measurements after work.
Probably could reuse the factory plate, I'll have to take a closer look. There's a chain that runs through it, which I won't hesitate to cut.

Online images but it looks like the chain is held in by a cotter pin. The chain should come out

    @Pixeltim
I'm inline at the car wash, listening to 94.1 out of your "fine"
    town of Madison.
I normally hate morning shows on the radio. But this one I like.
Just too many commercials. I hate commercials.

Maybe Dean will let you take a look at his setup this weekend...if you're not working.

If you end up making something, I can provide the 'cone'. The one I made for Dean has a 1" center hole.

There are a few I've liked. Some are definitely annoying.

Bob and Brian has been in Milwaukee forever. I seem to go through periods of liking or not liking them.

Dave and "______" (96.5) had some good bits. I always liked when John McGivern was on with them. I'm not sure how the show is without him.

Jake and Tanner were pretty good. They left Milwaukee for a station up near Appleton or Oshkosh, but I haven't listened to them in a few years.

I don't always listen to the radio on the way to work. But, it's usually B&B if I do.

You don't get any Bob and Tom down there? I think it's 92.1 around this area.
