I considered a gladiator briefly before I got my Tacoma but I have suffered through a stellantis product in the past so I couldn’t bring myself to buy one. I’m interested to hear how you like it.

 

I had also considered looking at them before I got my truck. Wife talked me out of it, luckily

How’re you liking it so far? What’s the mpg like in that thing? Not that it really matters, just curious.

 

"Everything" new out there is turbo charged, direct injection, yadda, yadda, yadda. This is a V6, port injected, normally aspirated, solid axle, very old school. So far what I hear on the internet is somewhat true. The steering is a bit mushy (acceptable), but not like my mothers 1970's Oldsmobile. Its a box on wheels so there wind noise above 50 MPH. Longevity, "time will tell".

 

All jokes, interested in seeing how you like it with time- what's the first mod?

 

In a few years its getting 33's, it came with 31's. I can go to 35's (with no cutting), but then re-gearing may be "required". Milage, is TBD. It has less than 250 miles on it.

 

Ordered: some LED lights, "sliders" (more like aggressive brush/door guards), and bed steps. Considering: spray in bed liner and bed cover.

 

Ordered a set of 4Runner SEMA wheels (.

PTR2035110BK.) and a Wescott kit for the front. Need to find a used 17x7.5 steel wheel for the spare, like one from a 3rd. gen Sport (p/n 42601-AD050). LT285/70-17 Wildpeak AT4W once everything arrives. Original PRO 16" wheels + 16" spare/wheel may be available at some point.

Edit: might just get a 255/85-16 for the existing spare wheel as its 33.1" vs. the 275/70-17 on the drive wheels at 33". 0.1" shouldn't be a big deal as a spare.
