Good to know, thanks! Besides being a local-ish company, one appealing thing is they still sell parts for even their older machines so no problem if I do eventually wear some things.

Blue Cross reimburses $300/year for fitness equipment, so that helps a bit with the cost.

I just got an indoor trainer for my bike set up last night. I think the bike is a smidge cockeyed, but overall it was nice to switch things up. For the past 2 ish months I've only been able to walk/hike/run, no kayaking or riding, so it's been getting monotonous. Was thinking about rowing machines too, but they're just BIG big, and we don't have a basement to work with for a slab floor either.

This will fold up in the closet in the summers when I can ride outside.

O.O I gotta look at that. I know I could have done some sort of gym membership thing through mine, and my company just partnered up with a gym up the road that's cheap(er) membership. Spent less on some warmer clothes and bring the dog with me instead. But I'll have to see if mine would reimburse for the trainer stand

Will they reimburse for my form of exercise?

They are definitely big, but I do have a basement and the non-utilities side is basically empty. The Concept2 says it does separate to two parts for upright storage - I'll know more when I get mine but that may help your situation.

My wife also has Blue Cross and her reimbursement is $150, so it definitely varies by plan. Originally, I think ours was only for fitness clubs/gyms/weight loss plans, but at some point they added home equipment. I sent my invoice off to them right after I placed the order - it says approval could take up to 30 days.

Oh, we have thoughts of home renno which involves hogging out the crawl space into a full basement :spy:
I think it's either the bike and trainer, OR a rowing machine, for now. And I already have the bike and trainer....

Once we have the space that's a different story.

I just poked around and didn't see anything on mine, but it might be hard to find (hard to find a way to get money out of insurance? BAH! No way!) I know we have a bunch of gym options. Found a bunch of stuff about Lasik and fitbits though. :notsure:

A lot will be on us.

But lifting the house, blowing out the foundation, and pouring a new foundation + slab, I THINK is beyond a DIY.

We also might look at converting to a split level to keep the same foundation.

But then we'd have to basically rebuild entirely, with a mortgage, which might not jive.

So then we have to keep some part of the house as is, to keep it as a mortgage.

But then we have to figure out how to lift the house and do the basement.

But then we might do a split level so it would be, potentially, able to keep the same foundation.

Feel your pain, we decided to just bump out the existing house so we could live here during the construction (which was a questionable decision in hindsight, but didn't really have any other option). That meant cannibalizing two of the 2 of the 6 rooms we had before construction started. And found upon first excavation that the bedroom that was added on a few decades ago by the previous-previous-previous owners wasn't put on any kind of real foundation. Needless to say, bit of a shitshow.

They were the cheapest by far back then costwise so I'm sure it didn't take much damage to total

I want to say you can maybe use Sex Wax on the rollers too..

Might need to poke a little more. Some plans don't have it but I know MA is more likely than not, of course your employer can choose not to offer it. It has changed from just the actual gym over the 25 yrs or I can speak to, which is a good thing for people like myself.

Friend of mine is a carpenter. Went to somebody's house to quote a job and wondered why he was getting a weird look from them. He forgot he was wearing a Sex Wax t-shirt

I have a Stamina 1060 rowing machine. It's sort of an entry level machine, but it works for what I need. It can be stored upright and the arms fold, so it's pretty compact.

I had an indoor exercise training, but found that by the time I set it up in my family room, it took up just about all of the floor space, so I had to break it down every time. I bought a Schwinn labeled exercise bike and have been using it for several years. In New England pretty much half the year was too cold, or snowy, or just crappy to ride outside, so that worked better. I still have that even though the riding season is much longer in central Texas. If I wasn't so lazy I could have done an outside ride this afternoon after the rain stopped and the roads dried up. It's going to warm up the next several days, so I'll get plenty of outside riding in.

I was going to post the link, but it's BCBS of MA, so I don't think that would help you.

I was looking at one of the Schwinn exercise bikes thinking maybe I'll pick one up before next winter. Have to see how the rowing goes first and make sure I devote enough time to it.

I should have the machine tomorrow!
