Yeah, I didn't spring for the key-takeover kit. I didn't mind that much my wife's CRV doesn't have key-takeover either. While it doesn't shut off when the door opens, if you don't hit the start button, it dies the moment you touch the shifter.

I put that extra key under the truck in case for some unforeseen reason I get locked out. Because that key also opens the doors. I hide and extra key under all my vehicles. A few times it has saved me much grief.

I'd say the slider did its job today and saved you some side body damage. My guess is their car has a bigger mark.
    Still frustrating!

Nothing crazy, I replaced the stock headlight bulbs with H9 bulbs. Got rid of the lamin-x yellow fog light film, and replaced the stock bulbs with yellow ones. Headlights are so much brighter and I think the yellow bulbs work way better than the lamin-x covers.

Waiting on the right replacement dash bezel. Ordered one online from a wrecking yard in Oregon. But then it shipped with a different part number from Vegas (much closer to me). I thought, no big deal as long as it’s in great condition it makes sense to ship from closer, though still a bit shady to switch it up without notice.

WELLLLLLLL, now I have 2 dash bezels that don’t fit. They sent the wrong part.

I like to sleep in my truck.
Installed a hardtop! Scratched the passenger side of the bed but it's going to body shop next week for a dent in a parking lot, so it's okay! Removed the tool shelves inside. Some dents and dings but it was free! I am excited.

uuhhh, two things come to my mind, seems damage to the tire would require movement, so drawing up tight and checking the tire pressure once a year should do. And, do you have concern for your rubber thingies trapping and holding dirt and water against the metal and promoting rust? Extreme issue here, in the salt belt. I also think that pipe insulation will compress to near nothing over a fairly short time, and not hold up to movement for a minute; or if drawn tight, not provide much if any protection. I think you need something Much more dense, or even hard plastic. Maybe that is three things, oh well.

You make some good points, I do keep the tire cranked up fairly snug and I check the tire pressure a few times a year. I don’t live in a (salt belt) but you are right the pipe insulation is not very substantial and it could stay damp there longer. It’s all I had laying around but had thought about getting a few feet of heater hose and using that. But that might still trap moisture on the metal parts but would dry quicker that the spongy pipe insulation. I never considered the cons. Thanks for your input.

I’d think they had to feel that. Quick touch up with spray paint and we’re good
