Yeah, I understand what it does, I built my own core. My question is what is this going to do at the connection to the body, this is going to be even stiffer than the stock one and any flex is going to end up where the fender mounts to the body, and likely end up just like mine I suspect. Really just moving the weak point as I found out.

Love my 5.29’s with my 2nd gen with sc and 37’s. Taken years of abuse. But I’m running a tundra 10.5” housing with a Harrop e locker.

Spools are aweful. 10/10 don’t recommend. 37’s just showed up for the wife’s truck and we are doing 5.29’s with ARB’s

Agreed, done spools and welded a couple times, unless it is a dirt only rig that's used in the same conditions... man the spool gets annoying

You aren’t wrong. Without having a rigid chassis it is simply going to move the load to the firewall. And judging from your pictures, that’s exactly what you experienced. This thin sheet metal cannot handle it.

Exactly. I think this would be the less destructive used with a stock body mount, but still likely to blow up the firewall connection over time IMO.

Front frame section moves more than the body mounts will allow. So in other words, 100% going to be transferred back to the factory sheet with a rigid front clip. Our core supports don’t crack because of tire contact or anything else. It’s simply flex.

Once again, cage is the best option. I haven’t broke a headlight or grill tab or anything since the cage. The frames are just too damn floppy without.

Got a new windshield put in today. Couple of rock chips decided they wanted to talk to each other last week with the cold weather.

Cars and coffee in the am then taking to the beach to hear some bypasses clicking

have you ever tried to put that oe spare rim on your truck ? Seems like the backspacing on it would be a problem front or rear ?

I have spacers in the rear so worst case i could move a wheel around to get me home. This is a "fun is over" spare

yeah ive got 5.29's and a arb air locker, granted its in a ford 9" but its worked great. i like the air locker since occasionally we do get ice in the pnw and i don't want that to ever be a problem.

For you guys that have tube front end/inner fender, can you send pictures how you end up mounting your fenders? I feel like getting the correct height/location seems the most difficult part

Many ways to slice it. But building off of an engine cage is best.

Is that 1" tubing you use to branch off the cage?
