As a teen I worked a lot on xmas tree farms.
Every lunch break we took in the work van and our boss always listened to Paul Harvey......good day!

I like watching John McGivens shows on PBS. A great way to learn about other cities and new places to visit.

I don't think so. I think they were on a station that failed (97.3, the Brew?).

Yes! I've gotten a few ideas from him. He's an interesting character with plenty of good stories.

Morning radio in St. Louis got really good the last couple years so I haven't really listened to anything syndicated in a hot minute

Not to scale as that would make for about a 15" tire. :D
I don't know how much to leave for threads or @OldSchlPunk cone? a couple inches? (Marked in red). It's 6" to the top of the wheel.
Actual inside distance is 13-7/8 , but 14 will do.

So what are the 1" things on the side for? What does that lower plate attach to? Not seeing it in your picture. How wide? can I use lite 2" stra with reinforcement on the bottom for this?

Got my Fairlead on and the winch line came. It is way nicer than the HF line-but to be expected because it was twice as much. 85' of 3/8" joy. Winch is next... Can't see it but the cobbled together skidplate is on too!

The 1" sides will go up into the bed bar.20250130_170841.jpg
It will prevent the tire from sliding back and forth or twist.
It won't attach to anything. Will Rely on the pressure of the cone/nut.
    Plenty of room for 2".

I'm never away from my truck long enough for the time it would take someone to get this case off.

In my opinion those washers are not big enough, you should put a metal strap that covers both holes.

You are correct and nice catch.
    I almost forgot.

I did forget the strips at work, though. Scrap that was going into the recycling
It's better to reuse than to recycle.

The 'cone' is 40mm tall, approx half above and half below the inner face of the wheel. The hole is 30mm, I used a 7/8" bolt with a 'handle' welded to the bolt to tighten. The nut was welded to the frame.

    A true masterpiece.

That would work with a nut on the bottom strip.

If anyone is not going on the trip tomorrow, but wants to get out tomorrow afternoon/evening, there might be an impromptu mod day in Racine. Details are.. uhh.. not quite worked out. :spy:
