Was at CD Fasteners yesterday, usually a monthly stop for work related hardware..
And Mtn. States electronics is where I get my alarm contacts, wire connectors, switches, all for work.

I figured you used them one way or another. The gals at CD are great and I miss that schnauzer.

Well I broke my servo on the LC80. Got the brass servo mount on but realized I need a new servo case as well.

    @Kwikvette
Front and rear should have same worm gear set up though. Shouldn't get free spin at the wheels on either axle I believe. My rear had free spin at the wheels until I put in a bigger oring to set gear preload. She good now though. Only free spins at the driveshaft now and no more binding. I wanna get rid of the oring though and use metal shims in fear of the rubber oring eventually wearing and breaking.

I agree the spin should not happen from the wheels due to the worm gear. I was shocked when the guy in the video spun his freely in both directions. Was even more surprised when I was able to get mine to spin. I have my drag brake set to 0% because of the worm drive.
I wonder if the slop is engineered on purpose to accommodate different tooth counts.

I see, so then I should look at my fronts because only those spin freely if I turn the wheels.

I never opened the front, but do know the front and rear gearsets are not interchangeable. Didn't look to see if they have worm gears.

What was supposed to be an Amazon return for these driveshafts turned into another upgrade for the GX

    20250130_113312.jpg

This was the Deadbolt set I picked up almost 2 weeks ago as I was gonna use the rear for my C-Bolt rig. Ended up using the Gladiator links I initially bought and got too lazy to return these links :bananadead:

Still need to return the C10 set, definitely have no use for them.

One transmission, two different motor mounts.

I was concerned the spur was different. It's not.

runs exactly the same, but now my balance is off since it went past center. May have to swap the ESC/RX side to side (ESC is heavier by 4 grams)

@Deathbysnusnu you got me checking out the weight of my RX case now

Didn't think a gram or two would matter.

But I guess it's like backpacking; ounces turn to pounds, and pounds turn to pain :anonymous:

Man, I know E6000 is recommended for a ton of shit.

Even for layering decorative signs together where one is wanting to avoid tacking or bolting them together.

It's worse than shoe goo though in terms of how stringy it gets. At least the magnets are glued on.

Only reason why I haven't mounted the body is because I want my motor to be installed already.

Tomorrow the Micro from LGRP arrives, yet the one from AMain is still in limbo.

    Finally right

    You're not far yourself!

Your servo is on the way, and you're almost done with your paint job?

And @Deathbysnusnu just needs his body?

Also, Mazz will be restocking next Tuesday!

I'll be buying his C Bolt links and *possibly* a TI kit. Might even buy his C10 link kit if I buy the regular wheelbase kit?

With a second Micro Komodo making its way to me (whenever that happens), I could go for a second build with different axles.

My longer shocks and lexan was delivered today but it's nowhere to be found. Pretty bad storm hit today and I'm wondering if it blew away down the road lol.

    Oof...

Well shit hope you find them. Camera outside to detect when it was dropped off?

Couldn't leave shit alone and started trimming into the front grill. The servo horn gets in the way :bananadead:

Least I dressed up the cable for the ESC.

    20250130_190036.jpg

It's as tidy as I can get it short of cutting wires down and soldering them for a shorter length.

This may work for the other axles as well, after removing the damn things numerous times to try different worm shimming, I figured out you just need to...
Remove the upper link mount from the axle, leave the links attached. Servo can stay on the link plate too.
    Remove the driveshaft.
Rotate the damn thing and get busy.

Way faster than a complete disassemble.
