I recently installed a Pelsee rear camera so I could see behind me after installing a DIY Gofast type camper (Ripcord Wedge) I used a Dongar adaptor since my '13 truck has a camera and such in the mirror. I also bought the "OEM" style mount (really just a bracket to mount to the stock mirror mount) I don't have any photos but overall I am happy with the functionality. I mounted the camera to the top of the camper shell.

I installed my 3G skid...aaaaand then saw this. It has 3 miles on it, probably shipping damage I didn't detect and I have a feeling the dealer will leave me holding the bag since it's been a few months since I bought it.

That’s a pretty good spot to try a patch, not a lot of movement on it. Clean it real well, and try it

I would think if it's a OEM from dealer it should have a 12 month or 12000 miles warranty. The hard part is if they didn't install then they will fight you for it.
    Good luck.

I was wondering about that. Do you know what type of rubber it is off hand? EPDM?

Same dealer wouldn't lift a finger for me on a misboxed part I discovered just outside the return window. I even said "can you help me confirm it will interchange if I swap out another interfacing part? While sort of a grey area since I did double check the package upon receipt, I do understand I am outside the return window."

For context, I had spent about $10,000 on parts with them over several months (maybe more, I'm weary of actually adding everything up, but I basically completely refurbished this truck); this was a clutch master cylinder tipping the scales at a whopping $140 or so.

I have done some patching on a torn CV boot before. I used a bike tire patch and it worked good a few months but eventually failed. I ended up getting axles from CVJ and one of the axles was leaking in the exact same spot as yours after using it for about a month. I contacted them and they swapped it out for free. Hopefully that dealer will replace it for you

Finally got around to installing my 3 inch Ironman 4X4 lift kit! I have no more issue with tire rub on full turns (Running 285/75R16 Mickey Thompson Baha Boss tires on factory aluminum wheels) This in of itself is a HUGE improvement for me. I couldn't go even close to full lock with my factory suspension, which to be fair, I expected running these tires, but it's nice to not have that issue any longer. A few more improvements and I'll be wanting to take her out on the trail. Perhaps make a return trip to Moab in a year or two!

If putting the 3-in lift stopped your tires from rubbing then they will still rub when you flex the suspension at full lock. It is a common myth that getting a lift on your vehicle will prevent rubbing. It will while you're on flat ground but drive up onto an obstacle and turn the wheel and see what happens.

In a standard situation, yes. However my tires, by their design, have a slightly larger edge kerf to the sidewalls. This makes them a bit wider. The rubbing was actually occurring against the factory upper control arm. The Ironman kit I got came with new UCAs, and their shape/design is such that the sidewall now no longer rubs against it. I am sure when I start flexing I will find a different spot, likely the front cab mount, which I have read is an issue. I'll go from there as that occurs. I was just glad to get rid of the sidewall rub!

Mine is not even in the bellows area by the looks of it - appears to be right by the clamp. It probably got dropped and the inner CV body pinched it, I gave it a good look when it came in but nothing was visibly wrong with it other than a dinged up dust shield.

I've got some industrial grade superglue for "difficult to bond plastics and rubbers" at work, I may see what I can do here if I am left hanging. I used it on some EPDM and it seemed to effectively fuse the piece; a test piece I made tore all the way through rather than delaminating. Being a brand new CV, the material is fresh; I may get an OEM boot kit and make a patch out of the inner boot and save the outer in case it fails and I need to suck it up and replace it.

Not a Tacoma but I think some of you will like this picture. This was my 1963 K10 Chevy Suburban crossing the Verde river in Arizona on Jan 27, 2002. Wish I still had it. Also I was on 35 bfg mud tires give you some idea how deep it was. IMG_4395.jpg

Finally installed heated mirrors, already had the relay wired for about a year. They're anti glare and wide angle, as well.
