Can you provide a better picture of how the sliding bed works? It look like 1x4 aluminum tubing resting on the steel frame ledge?

Curious if anyone could provide me some insight. I'm looking to begin a build, and I would like it to be 100 in extrusion. Unfortunately, shipping for anything over 90 inches is going to add about $350. Is there a way to do shorter extrusions and connect them that would add up to 100 in and still be as strong/stable?

thats acutally a peice of hard wood, with a alluminum angle on the back attched to the thicker chunk of alluminum compsite, And i made it to where the wood was notched and slid on the camper rails just like a 4wc camper setup...

I would stay away from using multiple pieces to achieve the length of 100in. I looked up companies that regularly use extrusion (got mine from an automation company) and had them ship to their warehouse as they normally would so I didnt have to pay shipping. They also cut to size since they got sticks of like 20ft. Depending on where you're at, you might have multiple options.

Got a good test fitting of the canvas. Still some adjustments and final touches left, but nearly there.

My build is a v3, which was just released below.

Does anyone have cut dimensions for a 1st gen short bed build? I'm having a hard time determining how to measure and cut the compound angles required on the shorter pieces. Kind of stuck with the different measurements.
    Thank you

The long overdue Version 3 featuring an all-aluminum construction. The lower frame is now made entirely of 8020 Extrusion and the lower panel doors are all aluminum sheet. This camper is vastly improved from V2 and much easier to build.

Yes, I think they are Pro Comp 51’s or something.

I've followed your build for a long time, since V1, and just finished reading through your V3 revision. You have really perfected this build. It looks like a factory build now with the lower frame extrusion and CNC'd components. I would love for you to do an updated walk-around video.

I'm interested in building this camper for my 2.5 gen Tundra. Obviously my measurements will be fairly different. Do you have any estimated cost for the CNC'd components like the lower frame mounts and angle brackets? I'm not sure if you used a turn-key supplier like ProtoLabs or Xometry. I wanted to know an estimate before i bit the bullet with the plans from your site.

I've also considered just making the lower frame uprights 90 degrees instead of tapered for more room, similar to an OVRLND camper. But that changes the dimensions of the wedge frame and i'm assuming would make it much more difficult to build the roof as you used one 5x10' sheet vs having to use multiple panels and seal the seams.

Would love anyone else's input too. Thanks for all the info on here, its a tremendous help.

Tbh? Thanks for all the ideas, but 'omg I'm going to sell the files' doesn't sit right with me. Donate a beer? Sure. I'd buy ya one or two. Or a pack. But I've been looking at doing my own corners too, and if I'm not the first one to post files, this seems to be the appropriate thread to post them in.

Maybe it's too early but am I missing something? The files are on the website. The price is inexpensive. It's about the same price as a few beers. Ripcord is asking a very reasonable price for the files.

LOL. I can guarantee you that your take "doesnt sit right" with the majority of people on this forum. He's provided a wealth of information to people interested in building their own. The parts list and how to is free. Get over yourself.
