Good morning and a happy Friday to everyone.

Going to make a vegetable soup with cut up chicken today. Caught a MEGA sale on shank portion, non-spiral sliced, hickory smoked hams at Giant Food yesterday. 49 cents a pound, I bought 3 for me and one for my sister. Going to smoke one this weekend.

 

Morning drizzly this morning. Been repainting the basement, sore and stiff. Coffee and my morning walk might help.

I'm getting the house cleaned up. I sanded some windowsills and remembered I had an orbital sander and HEPA Festool vacuum. I made quick work. I picked up the wrong paint.

I was too emotional to clean out Pam's Closet. Friends came over and went to town. They donated all the clothing to the local women's shelter. I am so grateful for their help.

My 1972 High School project was "The Future of Nuclear Power." I got to tour the reactor at Rancho Seco before it was fueled up. Rancho Seco is just outside of Sacramento. Notice the 1975 Newspaper on the floor.

 

I live in Sacramento and remember touring Rancho Seco when I was a kid. It has a lake around it that was very beautiful and popular at the time. I imagine the lake is still open for the public even though the reactor has been shut down for years now.

WTH, another mishap involving a plane now ongoing in Philly!
Was going to post last year that it seems like there were quite a few small plane accidents happening in the US, they just don't get a lot of coverage because they usually only involve one or two people and don't cause any major damage.

 

What did you pick up? We have a decent AV 4K setup but it seems the wife and son steam music through Amazon Alexa. Go figure.

Good morning. So last night I had just, and I mean just, cut into the cryo seal of the ham when my wife came in and said we are going out to dinner tonight, Saturday. Seasoned it up and in the fridge it will stay till tomorrow morning. Meanwhile I am cooking breakfast then off to the gym. Right now, it is 46 degrees, and it will get colder as the day goes on.

Good morning from the farm. 56 now with high of 72. Sunny.

One of the daughters is here with us. She brought a friend. I don’t think teen girls can go anywhere without one of their own kind in tow.

We all are going to a U-pick strawberry farm this morning, then back here to set up archery target, horseshoes, mini bike. Grilling some yardbird for dinner, then a fire with some relaxication. We have a telescope I need to figure out as well.
It’ll be like summer camp…LOL.

Hey Ma! Look, no salt!

 

Ha! I can't believe you guys put up with salt used on roads. The car manufacturers love it. Supposedly 3 billion dollars a year in accumulated rust damage per year. Why doesn't the public get their road departments to use other solutions? There are states where they have practically no rust by comparison... and they have just as much snow.
