All this started because I offhandedly said to someone that instead of shooting a marginal buck maybe shoot a doe. You people seriously need to get a f****** grip.

I don't see anywhere in that post where I accused you of high fence hunting. I only said that unless those deer were being protected for a reason, like being behind a high fence hunting set up, that someone at some point had passed on them to allow them to reach that maturity. That's all, nothing more. You simply let your emotions get the best of you. That you would let some b******* posted on an internet form affect you so tells me that you ought to go lay down on someone's couch and have a serious conversation. God help your wife and children

As I said in my last post I’m partly the reason those deer reached maturity by passing 3 and 4 year olds. Most of the people here know what my standards are and respect that. I can be as particular as I want due to the area I hunt and the effort I put into my land. I’ve never put anyone down for the deer they shoot because I know that they don’t have the same quality and genetics that we have here. The only hunters I’ve ever called out are the ones who bitch about not seeing or killing a big buck yet, they shoot the first year or 2 year old buck they see. The problem here is that you got into the middle of a conversation and started spewing diarrhea out of your mouth without knowing the facts. No, I’m not the best deer hunter around but, I’ll put my deer wall up against most, including yours.
As for the wife and kids, they’re doing just fine but thank you for your concern!

Dude it's been nearly a month since this conversation started/ended. Specifically it was 12/31 cause I went back to look. What train of thoughts led you to convince yourself that now, three weeks later, was the time to drop back in and spark the fight back up?

Either drop it and be a contributing and positive presence, or go away. It's super simple.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone had a 1 month reply ban from this thread:notsure:. All I know is I've got a 1.5 year old forky who's most definitely not safe, and I'll gladly share a pic here if he finds himself in a pot of my chili in the next few days

    Ahhhhhh didn’t consider that

It’s end of season. If it’s brown, it’s down.

That might as well be my philosophy all season long:anonymous: I fully understand where some people are coming from, and some decent arguments for passing on deer can most definitely be made; the real issue is some people refuse to accept that not all hunters are equipped with the same resources, time, or opportunities. For those reasons, I fully support anybody killing any deer, so long as its done legally. And if you're excited about it, I'm excited for you. Some of us hunt for meat; some of us hunt two to three times a year; can't eat the horns :deadhorse:

**sigh** See. You. Just. Don't. ****ing. Get. It. A marginal buck? By whose standards? Yours? The social media whores? Like I initially said, "It's not your tag." Period. Now either start to play nice, contribute something positive, or we can see if we can't get the trash taken out. Permanently. Clear?

I’ve been looking at new bows this year. Like the Hoyt Alpha 32, Elite Ethos and Mathews Lift X 33. Prices out the Mathews with Mathews Grid Lock sight, rest, quiver, and stabilizer. All in Kuiu Verde. Bare bow, $1400. Sight $700, Rest $300, quiver, $200, Stabilizer $150. Add in set-up and tax. $3000. When in Gods green earth did we figger we needed a $700 sight to shoot Whitetails at 20 yards.
