60+ year old thread.

Speaking of audio systems, after our move from New Hampster to Maryland last summer I was finally able to uncrate my old audio system and set it up; the Onkyo preamp needed a little work and the Thorens turntable needed to get sent out for a complete overhaul/refurbishment.

 

Well, to be honest, there was some salt and a LOT of mud.

 

If you do not want to break the bank you should be able to find a good Sansui or Pioneer receiver on the used market. Integrating your TV into the system is another path and not that inexpensive.

Good morning. Had the ham on the smoker at 06":00 this morning. Going to pull it at 150 degrees and slice some off as ham slices then wrap and put back on the smoker till it reached 200 degrees then pull it like pulled pork. Going over to an old friend's home and help her mount her bedroom TV to the wall. Actually, my son will do the work I am there as a technical consultant.

Good morning! Beautiful weekend at the farm. Another day of “payoff” weather. Payoff for the brutal heat, humidity, and hurricanes we Floridians endure in the late spring to early fall months.
Finally can do some “locals” stuff after 2.5 years of rebuilding the home.

I used to go to a lot of car shows back in the day and there was an old guy driving a Chrysler Imperial that he bought new. It had the factory optional record player in the car with 3 or 4 records. The records were specific to the player and had to be bought through the dealer. He would always tell us that us "young bucks" didn't know how to "woo" a girl. He'd say "If you have a record player in the car on a date, the girl was yours for the night". LOL He was a cool old guy.

Chrysler Imperial was the first car that had a built in
Am/Fm/CB radio. And air suspension.. And a mini spare.. lol

Ugh.. dishwasher on the fritz. Been acting up for a while... maybe it'll work, maybe not. It's several years old. Wife determined to keep it, make it work. I say get a new one and be done with it, life's too short to be bothered with it, and a new "board" would be almost as expensive as a new dishwasher. I even offered to wash the dishes the old way. What was I thinking? I don't really want to throw parts at it.

We went to look at new ones, saw one she liked, bought it, install in a few days. Now that's progress. Meanwhile, you know who will be washing dishes. Bummer.
