Well I hate to say this but I am the President of our H.O.A. and have been for the past 5 years.
But I will say our rules are no way like that. What I would say to do is check your covenants and see what they say. If it is not in their (CLEAN AUTOS) don't worry about it. If it is, well choice is yours. Here we have a section that if a violation notice is given that is the ONLY time they will hear from the board. Any futher contacts will be from the H.O.A. lawyer. If it goes that far, he has the right to go on your property and have the auto towed.
I am sorry that your set up is that bad, I would attend the next board meeting and voice your opinion on the matter. I know it blows, but when you do try to be nice.

they actually tried to tell me that I have to put my boat in an off site storage. It clearly states that I am allowed to park a boat up to 21' on site in the designated parking. I pulled out my last inspection showing them the doccumented length being 20' and the issue has since died.

Im getting close to that point.

Just read your post again "FIGHT IT" if it is not in any of the paperwork given to you or picked up by you, they can not stand behind it. Most cases more than 1 person can/needs to fill out a violation. A vote or agreemnet needs to be taken before action.

There is NOTHING in our CC&R's that say a vehicle has to look a certain way, or be kept clean. I have had my 4x4's here with 100x's more mud caked on them, and dragged into our complex without the slightest metion. I go to the meetings, and they usually try to go very quickly so as to not give me the opertunity to speak. When I do, I have the other residents backing me. If this bull shit goes any further, Im going to fight it. In the meantime, my truck is in for an extended stay being dirty. :)

It is supposed to be in place to keep the neighborhood up. So house values stay up. But alot of HOA board members get carried away, like with Chris. The power goes to their heads & egos.

There are some neighborhoods in Frisco (Suburb of Dallas) that don't allow pickups or "low-end" SUVs parked out front or in the driveway. Only Escalades or high end foreign vehicles (Benz, BMW, Audi) are allowed.

that stinks. Im so glad i moved out of my condo. I was paying 300 bucks a month for basically garbage and snow removal. what a waste. I had the end parking spot in the underground garage....i parked my motorcycle and car there since there was enough room in the one space. the other owners were bitching because i parked 2 vehicles in one spot. atleast the hoa didn't make me do anything about it.

but...i couldnt have sat. tv, i had to get written permission for the cable company to bring a cable through the wall since it was never done originally. i couldnt do this, i couldnt do that. i couldnt put a light on my porch since no one else had one. i will say they werent as strict as others i have seen, but im glad i dont have to deal with it anymore. at one point i had 2 cars in the parking lot and 1 in the garage. i was waiting for someone to bitch about that.

a lot of towns around me you can't park on the street over night....just about every suburb around here has a no parking a truck plated vehicle on the street over night. most dont allow vehicles with lettering/advertisements on the side. these are villages, not hoa. its kinda stupid imo because these are the people that live there and pay for the village. they are working people and not allowed to park on the streets or their own driveway in some villages.
