I checked my social security benefits today, it says if I were to retire right now I'd be broke.

 

I know I joke about peepee coin being up or down but damn. My crypto investments have dumped 40% in the last 12 hours.

my other investments are down 7% since 6pm. Tomorrows stock action is going to be a huge sell off.

 

Yup, it’s a global economy. GE didn’t invent six-sigma and teach it for no reason. Things don’t get made exclusively in one country anymore. We all hear supply chain issues, and this is it. I recall as a kid, Radio Shack calculators said made in Mexico, Assembled in the USA. I inquired about this and was told it was an import tax issue and only the battery was inserted here.
As for crypto… it’s unregulated. It’s no form of investment opportunity. I made plenty on Crypto… but it was accidental. I had someone want to be paid in bitcoin (00s). I asked a buddy that mined in spare time (most of us did SETI with our spare CPU cycles) for $20 worth. The problem with Crypto is that there are transaction costs and “spare change”. So, you pay someone $12 and you end up with 7.35 in change. BUT… wait a couple years and now it’s worth $100. So you spend $80 and now have 17.52 in change. Wait a few years and you’ve got $39. The problem perpetuates. Ever notice that Crypto ATMs only TAKE money? If I had a shit ton of crypto… this is what I’d do… imaginary to in hand! It’s essentially a stock that folks believe in, without any physical backing beyond a common “belief” in its value.

 

I feel your pain, I am down about 25% on my account today

 

Shares are 25% cheaper, yer getting more for less.

Valuation is flat for the year. So, this too shall pass. Companies don’t lose money, consumers do. Looks like we’re going to pay more of our income percentage for consumables. Expect to have less of your paycheck for “fun”, unless yer getting a raise.

 

Volatility is the new name of the game, friends.
