In all fairness I have acknowledged that if I get a second car purely for fun it is not the smart thing to do and counter intuitive to owning a house but screw it. Only if I can pay cash and pay the insurance cost for the whole year without any stress.

but you are correct. I was mostly making fun of my generation and boomers both. My grandparents are surprised that when I move and start working I’m going to be renting instead of just buying a house (they’ve been in the same house since 1972 and don’t give a shit what the housing market has done cus they’ve never wanted to move or sell)
