Just finished making homemade chicken soup

 

I do sometimes find it very difficult to resist the urge to tell someone I think their brain is cooked.

I knew it was bad, I have been driving my truck with this issue for a few months (always checked the coolant each week, make sure temps never got hot with a scan tool, which it didn't). It could have been worse for a broken head gasket, thankfully it only broke the first layer between cylinder 3 and 4.

 

I was on the Colorado forum when I had my 2006, I don't recall much stupidity per se but not much activity though.

I mean I don't let my wife drive my truck, but it's because she makes a mess and spills coffee in her vehicles..plus never locks the doors.

Only thing more fun that that is the one who still insists you're wrong after that..and thank them for INcorrecting me

 

Nice, glad you got that taken care of. Mine has a problem with cylinders 1 and 3 getting coolant in them

 

Does your truck push exhaust gases into the overflow? Mine started with overfilling the overflow, then I finally caught it pushing bubbles into it after driving one day.

I know you said you were interested in doing a V6 swap, but if you decide you want to fix your I4, let me know if you want help, this would be the third time I have had my motor apart within a year and a half. I have definitely got it down pat to remove the timing cover!

 

I appreciate it. Mine would eat coolant, and I found it cause it got so bad that after leaving it sit at work for 10 hours it would crank but not start for a long time. Came to buying a depstech borescope and putting it in each cylinder. Which is also why my motor goes through 2.5 to 3 quarts of oil every 5k miles

 

, that's bad! I am shocked you still drive it at all! Granted, you have had a daily driver for a few years now, so that helps.

Yea it's been getting worse and worse. Got a parts truck from John.

Nope oil has no coolant mixing. It's just putting coolant into the cylinders 1 and 3. Last time I took it to Maine it went through a reservoir of coolant, in about 900 miles

 

well if you see any signs of coolant in the oil park it till you fix it or you'll lose the bottom end

 

I know. It's already bad enough to have scored the cylinder walls and caused an oil consumption issue. Currently isn't doing anything since I rolled it

 

Morning All,

I am considering doing a quick route 66 drive this summer, been looking for a map download to use with one of my many downloaded map programs, haven't been able to find one yet. I prefer to use Osmandmaps as I paid the lifetime fee to use that one and it worked well with the downloaded smokey mountain routes last summer.

Also, Ill be looking for MOAB and other Utah trails if you know where I can find them.

 

If you do you have to go here its on Rt 66 in St Robert MO.

 

Clarifying question: You're looking for a GPX route of Old Rt 66?
I know there are some offshoots called Old or Historic Rt 66, which was replaced with the interstates, or a new route, I can't remember.

 

ya, looking for historic route 66, I will end up doing some of the interstate depending on the days time crunch. and yes GPX.

40$ (at that time, not sure today) for a year's membership, gives a lot more info than just a GPX route? I'd probably do that.
