Not sure if a thread like this exists, but hey why not?

I have a leaking hose bib. Its a prier. It started dripping out of the mouth. I tightened the handle and it stopped but I never use the hose bib and started leaking out of nowhere. Is this just a washer replace or do I have to cut it out and replace the whole thing? Do these things have proprietary parts?

Also I have some paint peeling at the top of a window sill. Is this a window replace or is there something else I can do?

    This one..

Assuming nothing is cracked possibly due to cold weather, you may be able to just replace washer yes.

Pics of the window? You mean from the inside or outside? Peeling paint doesn’t seem like a reason to pull out a window unless it’s like some compounding problem, like moisture from window causing paint to crack? Is it leaking?

I do not have any pics of the window at the moment. Its in the inside. Supposedly its from air condensation. There is no visible water or leaking water damage per se.

could be window seal issue or just the efficiency of the window.. may be worth replacing, is it the same as your other windows in the house?? I’m not an expert but double pane windows are charged with gas and once your seal is broken the window doesn’t perform as well as far as insulation and heat loss

The windows in the house are all the same. i once had those renewal by anderson people stop by and they quoted me at $39,000 to replace 9 windows and a sliding door. Needless to say by reaction was "fuck that."

Yeah that’s wild, I’d have had the same response.. not sure if you can still find the matching window and just replace the one but that would be my move..

the process to repair a window with a failed seal I believe includes removing the whole window anyways, then the inner pane, replacing seals.. PITA plus finding someone to do it and how much it’ll cost who knows.

    *again far from an expert*
