    It's actually a nice day outside and I spent it inside all day. Any Laredo Tx members trolling this thread? I was leaving Laredo yesterday and saw a 2nd gen double cab white with a killer looking bumper with a TW sticker on back. Just wondering. Blew the horn a few times but I might have just scared them. Oh this was on fm 359 on the way to Hebronville.

    I spent the day car shopping with/for my brother. He knows nothing about car buying. Here's a sample conversation.

    Salesman: So here's the sticker price, the window tinting price, the diesel market adjustment, and finally the final price. Does all this look right?
    Brother: Yeah. Looks good. Does it look good to you? (to me)
    Me: Hold up. Now...this $2500 "diesel market adjustment", can you explain that to me?
    Salesman: That's the market adjusted price because these things are so popular. We add that on ALL of our TDI cars.
    Me: That's bullshit, take it off.
    Salesman: We sell these cars as fast as we get...
    Me: You've got THREE on the showroom floor alone and another dozen on the lot.
    Salesman: Well...we can't take it off. That's our standard.
    Me: Boardwalk VW doesn't do that. I guess we're going to Richardson.
    Salesman: Well, why didn't you go there instead? (He ACTUALLY said this!!!)
    Me: You had the color he wanted. But we're not going to pay $2500 over sticker just because you marked it up for shits and gigs.
    Salesman: Well, I guess I can talk to the owner and see if he will approve it, but we never sell it without the markup.

    My brother was LOLing. 2 minutes later, the $2500 markup was gone. The finance guy asked "So...are you guys friends with the owner? I've never seen one of these go out without the market adjustment."

    Yes, we (my wife and I, Cousin and his wife, and their friends) saw the concert. I'll give them credit - they put on a hell of a concert! It was worth the $5 to get in; the three hour wait might be something different though. Overall we will be doing it again.
