That thread I linked actually has 4 different layouts, RC builds, mini bike build, small engine builds. All winter projects to stave off boredom. It's kind of eclectic to read thru.
Edit, there is 5 layouts, forgot about the T scale.

I just want my kid to be able to explore all the different things I never had a chance to (I grew up poor).

So that's why I've got an RC car coming in today for him. Got that train set recently. And I've been looking for an activity table top to dedicate for his train set.

If he ends up liking it just as much as his cars, I'll definitely invest the time/energy into such cool sets for sure.

Helps keep my mind occupied, and share things with my kid as a stay at home dad.

My batteries are expected to be delivered today - think USPS left it on their truck but was surprised to receive two other things.

    @Strictlytoyz Servo arrived!

That and the Micro Komodo that was in Texas for a few days

    Battery and charger arrived!

An FYI, when using the Meus steering mount, you'll need to point your ears outboard for an NSDRC servo and inboard for a Reefs RC servo.

    20250203_120420.jpg

Battery is small as hell and fits perfectly on the mount.

    20250203_120046.jpg

It's only 180MAH which is perfect because it's what I'll use for those 5-minute comp runs my local shop says they do.

I'll buy a few more after I do multiple runs through this thing. Probably in a larger size too for practice.

My servo doesn't even work wtf?

Doesn't make any noise or attempt to turn or anything.

Need to send NSDRC an email. I should've plugged it in before I installed it but if I plug in the other servo it's just fine.

Battery has charge too cause it moves forward/back. And yes, the pins on the black connector are fully seated.

I didn't post that I did that because I had already done that.

    It doesn't work.

Got the Reefs back on and sent NSDRC an email with a video.

    Reefs servo works like normal.

On a positive note (pun intended) this little charger is badass!

    20250203_134550.jpg

    20250203_134618.jpg

Plugging in the balance cable from these lipo batteries will tell you what each cell is charged to without having to plug in the charger to a power source

Plus it's plenty small to carry with me in my new case

Yep, can't mess it up! The white striped wire goes on the far end (opposite of the writing on the plug). And the wires are "glued" together so you have to intentionally cross over them to mix the center from the other two.

nifty little charger, will prolly get one myself. Overnight on Amazon, but they just went on nationwide strike, so might just wait and see how it turns out first. Or pay the extra and get it from Amain. I don't need it, but it sure looks great for camping... although I have one that runs off the camper battery just fine.
I have several chargers and the one I use the most runs on DC only. Deep cycle in the garage or off the truck battery.

It is funny though how this hobby can lead you to have multiple chargers. I remember having 2-3 aftermarket ones cause after getting one I was like

"Oh, this could be my travel charger"

Then "this one can be my at home charger"

Wait, I like this one too though! "This will be my new main charger and the other is a back up"

Got rid of all mine when I left the hobby
