If I replace the battery on my 2017 SR5, are there any extra steps (reprogramming?) that need to be taken? Recently had to have tech replace battery on wife’s 2019 VW, instead of doing it myself, for this reason.

Never had any problems replacing the battery on my 2018.

It did take a couple minutes for the AC to start working right.

No you don't need to register the battery like you do on alot of Euro vehicles.

Just had my battery replaced. I think it lost its shifting points and needs to re-learn.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
It may need to do throttle relearn but your TCM needs an actual reset learned command from Techstream. Disconnecting the battery would not cause this.

Probably don't need to do anything.
Mine was replaced and nothing needed.
    Replaced battery on wife's Honda.
Some things were not correct right away but after driving a bit and waiting a day or 2 all was fine.

wow, I never heard of having to reprogram for a battery change! Reason #5,682 to stay away from German vehicles.

Yea some of the Euros have been like that for quite some time.

Many of the newer Ford's your supposed to reset the Battery Monitoring System when you replace the battery but it often doesn't get done.

Most newer vehicles generate a ton of low voltage, communication, and other "ghost" codes when the battery get's weak that ideally should be cleared with a scan tool but typically don't affect anything.

If you replace with the same type and power battery, you should be ok, as other members wrote already. If you change type (liquid acid to AGM or other) or have significant power increase, you may have to have your ECU flashed.
