I see that the top of your bumpstop is shredded like mine used to be.
If yours is the old design, worth reaching out to see if they'll honor warranty. Curtis sent me a free set when I brought it up.

We had a suburban with the 42 gallon tank growing up with my family in the 90's, man it was awesome for week long camping / canoeing trips in the North Maine Woods and Canada, even with that gas guzzler, it had great range.

With that much weight behind the axle, it'll be more planted in the whoops haha

Tired of hearing this thing so much. Love the turbo noises but the V6 trumpet drone noise is annoying. Still have plenty of turbo noises I think but hopefully this turns the volume down a bit

Jones MAXFlow (24" muffler) and then further down the line under the bed a ZZP Ultra Quiet resonator. Hopeful that moving the muffler forward in the system (it's basically right below the passenger seat now), putting a resonator in, and getting the exhaust out from under the truck, will ultimately make it more quiet for me in the cab. It was fairly loud outside with only the single FlowFX muffler before and it dumped right behind the cab. Sounded good on idle but was a bit much most other times, and higher RPM under power it had a pretty wicked rasp.

Just routing it back out the back will be a world of difference. I remember when I dumped mine out behind the cab it was obnoxious

I'm currently trying to figure out a good exhaust setup for mine rn. Currently 18in magnaflow with an 18in glass pack resonator, but it's still way too loud on the pipe and has a shit load of rasp like what you're saying. Even with it routed out the back. Not sure if a bigger resonator or muffler is the right move, but I think moving it up in the system would help because I can hear a lot of resonating in the test pipe under the passenger seat. Might have to copy you, if you like that muffler

I’m running a flowmaster high flow cat (single), an 18” magnaflow, and Vibrant Ultraquiet resonator, in that order. Probably louder than Zane likes but no rasp and very little drone. Would probably be even better if I routed it all the way out the back instead of dumping under the bed.

Don't forget about the headers, I think that has an impact on the sound too.

Mine is nearly identical to what you are running with the exception that mine dumps out past the right rear tire. I got to hear mine from the outside the other day. Was a little surprised at how loud it actually was. Sounded pretty good IMO. No rasp and little drone and relatively quite inside the cab.

And FWIW, Zane doesn't like mine either.

Oh yeah, TRD headers too, forgot about those

I think your truck sounds good Mike, you still have the blown out magnaflow with a million miles on it?

I think we can agree that Zane is the exhaust grinch.

It's a V6 what can I say. They just don't sound good so it's better if they're just quiet. The only way to make a V6 sound good is do what the exotic car makers do and make all the header primaries equal length. Then it starts to sound pretty okay. Mike's system sounds a lot better than it used to since he got a newer magnaflow and an ultra quiet.

Naw. As Zane mentioned, I replaced it with another one of the same model number in March '21. 10+ years & 120,000 miles on the first 18" Magnaflow. Yeah, it was way past its prime.

Ah, I should remember that. But my brain is swiss cheese these days.

It’s no big block v8 certainly, but I don’t mind how it sounds especially down low.

Psht. Zane has good taste. Personally, I like the exhaust sounds of a Tesla. Not a fan of the whiney external speakers though.

Electric car noises are very odd to me. My buddies Hyundai makes all sorts of noises when you're traveling at slow speeds supposedly to warn pedestrians. We found out it's a little speaker in the grille you can just unplug. I like a little engine noise on something that's really meant to be sporty, but even on sports cars with v6s I'd rather just not hear them it's just an unpleasant sound profile to me.
