Yeah I posted in that thread as well. I think the issue people have with the 8-1/4 inch is they see the $300 price tag and buy it without thinking of what it can actually cut, just assume it can do almost the same cuts a 10 inch can, thats not what its made for. Its a compact medium cabinetry grade table saw for when you dont need to cut a 2 inch board at 45 degrees. I am very happy with mine put I was very aware that it wouldnt cut as thick or use a dado, I wanted a compact accurate table saw and eventually when I own a house I will also buy a large cabinetry grade stationary 10 inch table saw.
It would be like buying a 7-1/4 inch miter saw and expecting it to be able to make the same cuts a 10 inch miter saw can.

I purchased a new pocket knife. I generally don't spend a lot on my everyday cary pocket knives. This one is no exception to that but pretty nice just the same. $30 at harbor Freight. D2 steel for the blade.

Also grabbed a new .icro torch for $12. They are so useful.

Be careful with those cheap torches.

I had one. Used it a couple times until it went into runaway combustion mode and exploded. Scares the shit shit out of me to this day.

For those DIYers and Ryobi tool users this is a great deal on Home Depot.com deal of the day. I have some thoughts in my brain to buy this just for the batteries.

I had one once before for years and never had a problem with it, but I can't find it. So I bought another one. But thanks for the heads up.

i paid $40 for mine early on after they had just been released. still a great knife for the price. it's functionally identical to the begg mini glimpse, for half the cost. the movement is probably the most addictive part
    https://www.bladehq.com/item--Begg-Knives-Mini-Glimpse-Black-G-10--185621

i run that as my nicer weekend edc knife. only problem is that my weekday/work edc knife has a phillips and flathead blade on it, so i get used to reaching for my knife for simple screw tightening operations that this one can't do...

i'm curious about the temp control.

after setting it up, does it auto-start/stop based on a temp knob, or is it just on-low to on-high only, and needs to be entirely shut off if it gets too hot?

i've got a basic A/C plugin propane heater, but it's a pain to use-- it's just 'on', unless i unplug it, and then need to re-ignite it, so the temp tends to fluctuate drastically between running cycles, and then the hard on-cycles tend to make the propane bottle freeze up, which drops the heaters output...

Nah it doesn't shut off when it reaches a certain temp. She just chooches till you you shut it off. Had it on full blast for an hour and a half with no interruptions. :)

I got this order in today. This is a sweet little set.

First pic, airpods for scale. Folds up into a little rectangle.

Unfolded. 5-13mm sockets, torx, hex, ph, pz bits. Extension, ratchet, bit holder. Sockets are all 1/4 twist lock. This is going to be a perfect little motorcycle tool addition i think. Replace some of the smaller sockets with some of the more random fastener sockets, add an adjustable knipex plier set, boom good to go.
