That guy "interned" with Grind Hard Plumbing (I don't keep up with their channel anymore but I always felt Ethan was competent) this past summer I think? I've followed him on instagram for a while.

His YouTuber/influencer skills have definitely improved. But continuing to run that 3RZ in his badass Sunrader build is confusing. He's done 1UZ swaps, 5VZ swaps, etc. on customer vehicles.

    @6P4 said it better lol.

They made a big deal of him moving north to be a full-time GHPC member after a trial period as guest fabricator. Then a few videos later, he disappeared and was back in New Mexico with his own channel. It was very strange. I never saw an explanation and I don't expect to, YouTube content creation is a business and it's not good business to publicly burn bridges.

Best guess at why stuck with a 3RZ because LCE hooked him up. It was probably the fastest/cheapest way to get it back on the road since everything was already built around a 3RZ and he already had the supercharger.

Exhaust came out pretty good I think, it will have killed all the drone. Holy shit was all the oil inside of this pipe burning off disgusting though.

Kind of got screwed by the auto gain on the microphone for the interior shot because it adjusted because of how quiet it is. But one indication that it's quiet is how you can hear the motors mechanical sound more than the exhaust now.

I’m just hoping he moves quick on the camper buildout, Toyota World Runners is taking way too damn long for their Chinook rebuild updates lol

I haven't followed their channel but from the thumbnails it looks like they're milking it pretty hard--like they're just retelling the story of stuff they already did more than they're doing new stuff?

    Sounds good.

I was thinking "wow, that sounds so much better than a typical Toyota v6". I forgot for a minute that you've got a turbo and tune...

Thanks, it's nice and deep now (though a phone speaker may not convey it). I'm excited to really get on it and hear it. But all the rasp is gone and I'm stocked for that. Also yeah, Haltech has way better throttle response than the stock computer once dialed in. Makes blipping it for a shift easy too

I can't promise anything there, but I'm going to try to be regular about building it rather than taking huge breaks from it. I think this week we're going to knock together the flatbed frame

Have you considered starting a Youtube channel so it can consume your life and slowly make you despise what you once loved while you shill fishing games, home security systems, and prepackaged health foods? That should help things along.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. Bit annoying, but the new stuff is usually good. One of them is a really good videographer, a lot of the shots from the films are professional quality. I watch those long form trip films like I would watch a Planet Earth movie. I like the build videos too, but they’re spaced like 2 months apart.

I meant Elevated Fab, but I am also invested in this so chop chop lol

We have so many projects, by we I mean @2RZNoShi1 and myself. We probably could make a fairly content filled YouTube channel. The issue is it would slow down what we're doing, because editing is a soul sucking process. And remembering to fuck with the cameras also is. But to answer your question yeah it's crossed my mind before... I just don't know if I could keep it fun for us if we want that route. I do however have some awesome ideas for marketing AG1 and slinging Raid: Shadow Legends lol. That said I don't really notice when YouTubers do that kind of shit anymore because I have sponsor block and adblock on all of my stuff. There's nothing more awkward than someone you respect marketing towards you, so I prefer to just block it so I can maintain some respect for YouTubers

Bet you could build a pretty big following on Instagram with a lot less work. Less rewarding, but it’d just be throwing pictures and short videos up like you do in here. Not a whole lot of competition in the 1st gen taco insta game, mainly SpruceBoots and Pedaldown4x4

I'll try to remember to post more stuff on there than I do now. Not a bad idea

While we do work on my truck and his pickup a lot we do a lot of other completely unrelated car stuff too. We have a whole bunch of stuff coming up on a 66 Chevelle, The T100, The rx7, very likely a Duramax... Etc

I never took you as someone who wanted to be in front of a camera so I wasn't really serious with that suggestion, but I would love watching your projects unfold.

Hiring a videographer and editor would make a big difference. One of the things that makes Grind Hard work so well is that quality of filming and editing; Edwin and Steven are great complements to Ethan there.

I usually fast-forward through the sponsor shilling but I think you only need to do that if you're trying to make a living and "grow your channel" off sponsorships. If you're comfortable keeping it as a side hustle, then I think just the Harbor Freight/O'Reilly's partnerships everyone has (which I assume mostly amount to discounts on product, plus maybe some free tool chests or winches if you're popular enough) would feel pretty good.

Challenger Lifts made a point of installing two-posts for a bunch of YouTubers a few years ago, ArcDroid has tried to get their stuff in front of cameras, and I noticed everyone suddenly got tire mounting/balancing machines around the same time last year too. Those would be nice deals to get in on.

Casey Ladelle has talked a bunch about how he monetizes YouTube. I find the business of influencing fascinating, and I have a lot of respect for the people who are able support the lifestyle they want while maintaining their dignity.

All the bambu stuff seems to be pretty friendly straight out of the box and I don't expect that that one would be any different. Build size and rigidity would be my only concerns. Rigidity as long as you run certain things kind of slow might be okay but I have a feeling that it's going to have a tendency to be a little less accurate because harmonics would make it vibrate more than a full gantry style printer

Spent some time and gave this a watch, seems like he's got some good ideas but glosses over a lot of stuff that's waiting to cause way bigger issues (maybe he wants that for views IDK). It needs a full antirock or some kind of large beam chassis mount sway bar for sure, he starts building that interior and it's going to get way tippier. He's got a stock Toyota mini axle up front with no gusseting too which seems wishful. I really like the clearance chop on the back of the camper and the 3RZ seems like a good engine choice for this thing (hwy pending haha) but I'd probably put a real airbox on it and get it tuned up right. I probably would have put a dually 14 bolt under that thing too, that little toyota dually is pretty weak, the 8" diff with 5.29 and that much weight is just asking to break again. 5.29 gearset is the weakest
