Its a Motorsport part, but functions the same was as a normal hydraulic steering rack it’s just remote mounted, flows more, and can run higher pressures.

Exactly. Rack is just there to give some driver feedback, prevent the wonder everyone complain about with hydro, and add a level of redundancy should you loose hydraulics. I’m not using the electric assist.

I put about 100 road miles on the new steering setup and then took a trip down to Flat Nasty to give it a proper shake-down run. All in all, I’m very happy with the results.

Off-road, it’s a night-and-day improvement and a much more enjoyable driving experience. When locked up in the big rocks, I have no problem steering with one hand, whereas before I would have been wrenching on the wheel trying to get it to turn.

On-road driving is okay; the only real issue I have is that there’s pretty much no return to center. I suspect it’s due to drag from the large ram, but I haven’t looked into it much yet.

How much caster do you have? I bet if you could get your caster up to 10 thr wheel would come back.

New front kit in the works. Looks like it’ll do better then 15” of travel. Will be using 07+ tundra +2.5” shafts, a 2.5x10 coil over, and moving my air bumps to bump off the uca.

How narrow could you go with that add spud shaft? I'm curious about doing this in a square body 2wd frame.

I made some (I just made the inserts with some flat stock and an angle grinder and welded them to some lock out tabs I bought). I ended up tossing them because I think it was too much angle on the bolt with the rear tabs in the outboard position and the front tabs in the middle and the bolt would get pinched in there. If all 4 tabs are in the center position that might help a lot.
