    Hey!

Just noticed this dent in my shock on the front left wheel side (see pixture below, on the yellow sticker to the left between the french/english paragraphs). Truck has been making a bit of a squeeking sound at low speed bumps, so figured I would take a look. There doesn't seem to be any leek. Not thinking about changing shocks at the moment as I am back to school for a career change.

Thanks in advance for the tips.PXL_20250204_202443965.jpg PXL_20250204_202459902.jpg

How old is that shock?! That thing looks like it's about to collapse.

Do you happen t have a spacer lift by chance? They can cause the shock to contact.

Either way, dent or no dent, I think it's time for some Fluid Film and new shock's.

Doesn't look like he's lifted, based on angle of axle.. but obviously can't be 100% sure.

No lift, the shocks are original... Don't think the previous owner changed them. Have the truck for a year and a half now. 204 000 km. Got a appointment on friday to look that up. Any sign that this could break? There's no cracks. I just noticed but maybe it's been like that a while... Gotta drive 50min to school every day so hopefully would use it for the rest of the week until friday morning.

I don't think it's going to "break" It's already broken, but as long as it doesn't come apart and jam up your suspension, the only noticeable thing you'll experience is your ride will be bouncier. Your "shock"s won't be "absorbed"

Get it replaced. It will eventually come apart with how rusty it is, I doubt it'll go from dented to catastrophic failure by Friday though. You're on borrowed time. No one can tell you if you're borrowing a week, or 5 year's though.

You can get pristine exact replacements on here for extremely cheap. (People take them off and throw them away) or you can spent a bit and upgrade to bilsteins.

You've been driving it this long... i'd prolly still drive it this week or whatever, but I'd get it in to a shop for new shocks ASAP.

I'd highly recommend snapping a few photos of the frame around where your rear suspension attaches (leaf spring mounts, shocks, etc), and share them in here.
