We'll see. Toyota has a history of extending TSBs year after year, examples like 3rd gen drivetrain vibration, 4Runner front diff needle bearing, 2nd gen chirping blower, and 2nd gen chrome bumper rust. It's the corporate equivalent of steering a supertanker.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Yes they were. A friend I wheel with has an 18 Pro DCLB, MT and a 6 foot bed.

Access cabs are disappearing for the same reason two door cars have disappeared from the family vehicle market, the convenience of opening a door vs having to work around a seat to load kids or groceries. People in general want the path of least resistance and convenience. Two doors and manual transmissions don't offer that.

There were no Pros offered in DCLB, let along with a manual.

Too many manual owners were complaining about gear hunting so they took it away.

You can see by the relative lack of reports of problems since the TSB vin range.

My reasons for an MT have more to do with enjoying the experience and my real hate if a gear hunting 10 speed auto in hilly terrain. I've had a couple and will choose the MT every time. I can also live without my phone while driving, whi
Ford had transmission issues 10-15 years ago that weren't limited to manual transmissions. 2012+ Focus and Fiesta transmission absolutely sucked. My 14 Focus spent as much time in the shop as it did on the road. I even spent two weeks in a loaner car after the 2nd complete transmission replacement. I got so tired of it, I went to a 16 that wwas supposed to have the issues fixed to find they were not. 18 Manual Sport after that.

You just have to ask yourself 1 question:

    Whats more important to you?

The Manual gearbox or the 1 foot of bedspace?

At least you get a choice.

Those were not autos, but dual clutch. More of an automated manual than auto.

Understood, based off of racing technology. Still sucked in a small car and almost got killed on 94 in Detroit because it wouldn't accelerate. Still a Ford transmission.

    Clearly you've flunked Economics.
The latest iPhone will be in high demand and selling at full list price. An old model will be discounted. Of course the Apple store is gonna push the latest/greatest because that is where the profit is.

It's no different for a Tacoma in high demand that commonly sells at (or above) Sticker, they're not going to be willing to offer a discount when they know they can get full price for it from the next buyer.

Can't even get what Toyota says they make. Try finding an Xtracab 4x4 automatic. I don't think Toyota wants people to buy their trucks.
