Gave it a windshield and cab glass. Thinking of putting cargo net style windows in the front and rear panel

Gotta hang up the towel early today, everyone's going to bed so I'll continue tomorrow.

I was messing with my crawler and doing the really slow up and down crawl to see how bad the stutter was.

Thing is, when I flip it upside down and throttle forward slowly, I can see a tiny bit of side to side wiggle. I think it may be my driveshaft because the end of it isn't completely square when I cut it down :bananadead:

I'll have to chuck it on the drill press and try to file it down evenly or something.

And yeah before anyone asks, my driveshafts are phased

But I got as far as adding an o-ring on the backside of the worm gear and no change. So I'll need to mess with it more tomorrow.

    Well, let's test it out.

    20250204_105225.jpg

Added a bevel to the edge, mainly to clean up the slight burrs and make it look good.

    20250204_105308.jpg

She's as square and flat as she can be.

    20250204_105319.jpg

Regarding the NSDRC servo, they want me to ship it back.

Was really hoping they'd just have me open it up. I'll have to remove the rear plate just in case I don't get it back.

    3s battery showed up.

    fit better than I expected.

Weight 26.4 grams. The 2s I was using is 22.7 grams.
Ran it full tilt for about 30 seconds on the carpet, then did a hill climb. Low speed control is the same, just comes on a bit sooner on the trigger. High speed was a bit better, not by too much, but was faster.
ESC and motor did run hotter than with 2s, just going by touch. This was just after a couple minutes of run time. Wasn't bad, but maybe check now and then and see if it levels out in a safe range if you decide to try one.

Did not notice any difference in torque or anything like that. I'll run it with both batteries for awhile and see what they do for performance and run time. I doubt there will really be much difference other than wheel spin.

Put my magnets on with some e6000. Had to make a rear chassis rail extension to get the body where I wanted, but she's in the curing process. We're almost there!!!

Chopped up some chassis pieces from my ascent18 that I wasn't using.

So, I asked about the specific rules.

    "Modified" is 5 functional mods.

And "Unlimited" is what my vehicle falls into.

They have much more relaxed rules mainly to engage with the lesser experienced folks so I might actually enjoy this since it'll be similar to running my Class II rig against Class III (4 wheel steer and all).

After about 45mins today on the course, I began to develop a weird noise so I'll have to diagnose once I get home.

It's not rubbing anywhere as the noise is not present when I run the motor. It's only when the rear wheels are on the ground. Wheels are on tight so we'll see.

    https://youtu.be/OrZYwo753-I?si=WA_hyTWR75IZgpoW

It also ran worse today with springs in the rear compared to last Sunday.

You'll get faster wheelspin (at full throttle) and longer battery life at the same capacity as a 2S variant. Nice you saw the faster speed already.

Do you have settings on your ESC to change the throttle band?

Ordered more 2S batteries last night just to have extras and for comp.

You're practically done right? Just need a body?

    Yep!

I have the pages loaded lol going to buy some links but I'm not sure if I want to go C-Bolt with a different type of build (different axles, motor) or Gladiator.

If I go Gladiator length, definitely an XL chassis. If I go C-Bolt, it'll be a regular chassis.

    What say you guys?

Also been keeping an eye on LGRP's site cause I want to try their Super 8's. Might even buy an extra but just a rear to have as a back-up.

Also, I meant to ship the servo back today but I ran out of damn ink to print my label :annoyed:

It's just a servo but FYI, shipping will be on your dime if you ever have to send them anything. Just sucks because the black and purple looked so damn cool.
