Not everyone can do what I do. Not everyone has the ability to say-oh well, it'll buff (or not). Told the kids to pay attention to the ends and make sure they didn't hit the fender. Kid just let it happen. Oh well... probably do mare damage than that in Kentucky. Winch is in and works.

Since we are heading that way... Seems appropriate somehow.

This actually backfires on you 3rd Geners... Tighter tolerances on the second gen best gen mean better approach angles, narrower trails etc etc So just simmer down monkeys.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Third gen tacomas are only better in four specific ways. One, is the option to have adaptive cruise. Two, is no air injection pump (at least on the V6s which is the majority of tacomas) Three, a powered rear sliding window. And four, crawl control. I know a lot of people just consider it a gimmick or an insult against their driving skills but it actually is a pretty useful tool. All other ways second gens are better.

The manual gear ratios in a 3rd gen are better than the manual gear ratios in a 2nd gen.

The fuel economy in a 3rd gen is also better.

The auto up down window switches exist.

    Usb connectivity

Heated mirrors are standard across all trims

The wheel designs don't look chintzy

    Easy lower tailgates

And the best part.... Overhead switches!! Because seriously.... Who doesn't love an overhead switch?

Why is the air injection pump such a problem. Change the filter regular and should be a non issue... Lockers are my crawl control. Back window up and down can be managed but, why? Don't see the value. More complex and something else to break/fail. No comment on the cruise because I don't know and mine works great.

The air injection pump is an issue because if it ever goes bad the vehicle goes into limp mode and renders your vehicle useless until you spend a large sum of money. As for the crawl control, like I said, some people are quite intimidated by it as if it makes you a bad driver to use it. Same goes for the adaptive cruise. Many people for some reason join the forums specifically just to find out if they can disable it. I find it's one of my deal breakers for a daily driver. If a vehicle I am looking into purchasing doesn't have it I won't buy it.

Perhaps I missed a couple things
