The inner and outer bearing in the knuckle. Plus the wheel nuts. You only remove the bearing in the outer axle tube

I saw those but, I'll beat up my crappy lexan bodies

Just ordered all the parts for a rear axle from LGRP. The mil discount + free shipping offset the small cost difference to nothing vs buying complete.

Got it in case I fucked my current rear, but if I didn't, I'll have one now for the second build.

Also ordered the Black Label tires at 63mm.

Considered picking up black labels since the ones on the Ascent perform super well. I was just a bit leary seeing all the defective ones lately. Maybe a bad batch?

    I mean, it's only money :rofl::spending:

I guess we'll find out though. LGRP offering to replace those hex nuts with the caps falling off was enough for me to say fuck it, I'll toss some more money to get some nice goodies.

If the tires are bad, I'm sure they'll make good on them.

I guess they're about to release a gear shim kit as well. It's what they offered to send me

About to put things back together. Had cleaned everything out trying to figure out the issue until I found this...

    20250205_083100.jpg

    20250205_085652.jpg

This was spinning inside the diff.

Swapped out to the underdrive gear set, pulled off the rear springs, and threw some CV-2 grease in it.

Fortunately all the bearings spin but I'll need to buy some replacements now that the ball bearings are exposed on one. I placed that inside the diff housing facing towards the housing itself as a temp fix.

Putting it back together hoping that was the odd noise I heard.

Ignore the background noise and makeshift ramp lol but it's the steepest thing I've got in the house. The silicone mat I use for rolling dough provides tons of grip.

Noise, as well as any lurching, is gone -

Hit up Michaels for some glue and picked this little toolbox up too. Should look really neat in the bed of my 1/10.

The rig is finally together. Took on its first little lines and so far its doing really well. If I give it some throttle it makes quick work of this. Slow crawling is more fun though :D

Dang, my batteries aren't expected until Saturday. If they arrive early enough, I may still head out to compete :mudding:

I hope so! And yep first comp ever!

Even if the batteries don't arrive on time, I can still go.

The SCX24 battery alone lasted me between 30-40 minutes at 350mah.

A timed run is only a few minutes so I expect to use the 180mah I recently got in for comp.

Always ensure you can finish a course on the battery. In the larger scale people are having issues with voltage drops/spikes from super small batteries that suddenly are at higher load from a super strong servo drawing power they cant handle.

I know NSDRC and Holmes had some beef for a bit while trying to determine why these servos were getting burnt up. Turns out tiny batteries were the common thread. The tiny esc they have gone to needed diodes or something and the servos were not rated like they thought they were... I think Holmes is still trying to identify the real issue but is warranting servos in the mean time.

Well, both front and rear worm gears are toast. They both just free spin now after running the truck for a while. The provided orings up front are gone. Probably torn to bits like I suspected they'd be. Haven't torn apart the rear yet, but no amount of shimming is fixing the front. I can only get it to not spin in one direction only. Fun times. Worm gears are dumb

    Dude what the fuck...that sucks!

When you pull off the diff covers, do you see any finish missing anywhere? Maybe something machined out of tolerance and creating a lot of resistance?
