I quit caring about fuel economy with 35's and I don't have a manual but gear ratios are changeable because 35's.

    What???

I need music and my second gen allows that

Mine has heated mirrors-blinkers and puddle lights too

    Fixed that with 35's

Mine had an easy lower tailgate, but the whole bed problem is fixed now with the flatbed

Soon... I can make those happen.

No reason for a third gen...

The only thing the second gen is better at is the automatic drive train. Everything else is better in the 3rd gen.

Or better yet, get the 4th gen that’s better all around except for price.

Except for that Camry motor. I'll take a 1GR over a 2GR every day, and twice on Sunday.

    I agree with 2/3

wireless charging is a joke and manufacturers should get rid of it. I’ve yet to find a vehicle it actually works well in.

It's slow, not advertised as quick charge, but works just fine in my truck. Maybe a phone or phone case issue for you?

3rd gen is best because I drive one.

All the other hoopla doesn't interest me.

I just like rattling chains and :stirthepot:.

Sparky up above had it right: KISS Whats interesting ius that as I get older you would think I would embrace all the gizmos, but honestly I like the approachability of my truck in terms of working on it and dont seem to miss the creature comforts to much.

Going from 1st gen to 3rd.

It was a drastic change in gizmos and electronics.

I don't think the 4th gen has been around long enough to compare.
I don't like the 4 cylinder. The HP and torque numbers look impressive, but it's still a 4 cylinder. As for all the electric gizmos, that's just more stuff that can go wrong and it just adds to price.
I don't need a big screen to distract me.
    The fewer controls the better.
I know at some point I will have to upgrade. At the rate my health is going it will be a TRD walker/wheelchair.

You mean the Lotus Elise motor? :D

Agreed. But surprisingly the 3rd gen is remarkably simple to work on.

Toyota mobility is a real thing in Japan and it wouldn't surprise me if it comes here.

Also the venerable 2.7 is a 4-cylinder and I would drive a truck with that motor everyday, twice on Sundays

I know the feeling. Getting old isn't all it's cracked out to be.
