    I like the drop camp trips. hire a guide with a mule train and they take you way in and just leave you and your stuff out there. I bet the model is repeated all over the west.

    I liked spots that had had a fire a few years earlier BUT not completely nuked. The deer seem to like the new growth and timber to hide in. Anyway the guides all say "the deer are up there (and point way up the mountain), good luck" and leave. I'll second the cardio comment and get a pair of old used steel crampons from ebay and keep your feet dry no matter what. Blisters ruin trips too!

    Just curious, do they make an auto feeder that you could mount to a tree?. At least that way the hogs couldn't get to it. Just a thought.
    We used to take 4 inch pvc and clamp it to a tree with big metal clamps. Fill it up with corn and put a plug in the top. It would gravity feed. It worked pretty good.
