This is gonna need a little esplainin…

I don’t know how far the reach is… but in these parts when someone says Wedding Cake… we all know what you mean. It’s my understanding that is a foreign concept elsewhere… where they ask “Oh, what flavor?” and we give them dumb looks.

So, it’s a king cake that tastes like a wedding cake.

I realize that I have never properly explained the “baby”…

    Providers are divided on that…
It started as a way to select the royalty for the event or provider for the next event. It was a dried bean placed in the cake before baking. Eventually a ceramic Virgin Mary or figure. It became a baby which changed to plastic (which really doesn’t like ovens), so they place it under a section of the freshly baked kingcake. Well, before we got to this point, somebody tried to sue that it was a choking hazard. It’s been marked on the packaging, but some businesses err on caution and just place it visible for the celebrants to decide for themselves. Personally, I’m the type of asshole that will buy a Jumbo (feeds a decent office) and put so many babies it’s insane! Now, I should say that there are always people who take the fun out of it and will go out of their way to avoid getting the baby and being responsible for the next one. They will get it, and stick it under another piece. They will not select a piece until they hear someone else got it, or even go so far as to hide/throw it away. Which explains my cruelty. We have an ashtray filled with babies at my house, in all colors and some ceramics. One of the bakers - Haydels - has been slowly recreating all of the classic characters of a Mardi Gras parade with a new figurine each year as collectibles.

This is this year’s… a location ‘Antoine’s Restaurant’

Drove out to see an old High School buddy at a Post Acute Center in east county San Diego. He's been there 2 weeks already, sent him via Amazon a 2025 Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Calendar for his room.
He wanted sodas so I brought some out with the Hospital approval.
Drank way too much coffee this morning for the 30 minute drive. Had to piss like a Race Horse by the time I pulled into the parking lot. No Damn Parking!
I pulled up to the "No Parking" zone in front of the dumpsters and jumped out to pee behind them. Man! What a great Pee!
Spent an hour with my buddy Dale G.

Oh, man. Regarding the poll that's a tough decision. A million bucks doesn't go very far on new homes and new construction quality is often questionable.

I might take the 500/500 option if I get to do most of the renovation work. I really enjoy demolitions/renovations and have a mental list of preferred materials, items, appliances, ect I would pick.

    Location, location, location though.

No tract homes and no HOA's.

I just now heard a township snowplow go past.
Nothing to plow really, but they always spread a crapload of salt and grit.
The ice ain't gonna be a problem for long though.
It's supposed to hit 46 degrees today.
