Oh the fun of walking into a banana spider web. That wonderful feeling as it wraps its threads around your body from head to toes!

 

I thought yall would have that one too lol.

 

We have some in the edge of the yard every year. A couple of years ago there was a huge spawn (infestation?) they were all over. One built a web spanning from my shop roof to an oak tree, about 12' of span. The circular part of the web was about 5’ in diameter and head high. I flagged it with engineer tape so I wouldn’t run into it lol. It stayed in place all summer. I finally tore it down in the fall when I didn’t see the spider anymore.

 

That's why my wife "lets" me go first when we go MTB riding in the spring. I get to be the spider sweep.

 

They are smart that way And in my case it wouldn’t matter anyway I’m a head taller so I would get it in the face anyway

 

This was a common spider I found inside and outside my house while I lived in the High Desert of Socal

 

Kid and wife were at it this morning it's raining so she wanted him to call his boss and not leave the house.
He wanted to be an adult.

I understand.

 

We have one similar we call the house spider but it has 8 legs and it’s about that color. And silver dollar size or a little more to the outside of the legs.

 

The orb spiders spin at night, take down the web by morning.

Walked into one at night, got in the truck then I felt a large something on my neck, grabbed it and squeezed. I still shiver when I think of it

My neck is itchy

weather: 60+ here today after ice & rain last nite. 40 tomorrow

to the hot/cold thing: Now that im old...... i like all 4 seasons.
but it comes with price. if it stings of bites? it dies around me. spiders, scorpions, wasps.

 

Happy Afternoon everyone. I got the bacon ( AKA pig candy) cooking in the skillet and the coffee is fresh. There's about a 1/4" layer of ice on everything, the road seems to be clear enough for the ya-hoos to go speeding down the hill.

Remember the old Audi Quattro commercials?? They were great!

If I ever did move, Tennessee is first on my list!
