I just received a call from my salesman indicating that there is a "sales pause" for all new Tacomas. He said that it has something to do with the wheels.I was scheduled to pick up my Tacoma tomorrow morning. Now, it's not happening. He had no further information. Anyone else hear this or know anything?

that doesn’t make sense call and talk to the manager sounds like they sold your truck or something it’s been on the delivery vehicle and a train for a few weeks if it was supposed to hit the dealer tmrw with wheels on it so it’s not like you live in Mexico right next door to the plant

the sales rep is full of shit

Sounds like BS. I would be calling other dealerships in the area to see what they know about it.

Edit: or, maybe not. I'm definitely curious now.

The truck was delivered to the dealership on Monday 2/3/24. I have a deposit on it. My salesman has been very helpful throughout the process. He says that it is still on hold for me, but they can't sell any Tacomas and he will update me when he knows more...crazy.

It's not BS -- we just got the notification at my dealership. Right now it looks like it's the SR5's and Off-Roads. I didn't hear the reasoning for the stop sale yet, but it is legit. We can't sell them now, until whatever the issue is gets remedied.

Even though they are on hold (the tariffs), Toyota is waiting on tariffs so they can up the price. :boink:

Just read the bulletin from Toyota. It's for 2024-2025 Tacomas with 17" wheels. It says that there could be excess debris and mud build up causing issues with the rear brake lines. This will involve replacing the rear brake lines. Tough to say how long it will take for the remedy.

Here is an email that I just received:

    Recall
    Good Afternoon Tyler,

The recall involves the brake hoses. A leak can develop over time associated with mud build-up in the wheels when doing certain off-road activities. As soon as a remedy is available, I'll let you know! Toyota tends to err on the side of caution.

Tell them to give you full retail credit for the wheels and go buy some aftermarket wheels

Yeesh man the 4th gen can’t catch a break it’s like the engineers designed it as a rush job on a Friday afternoon before a 3 day weekend

I know machining debris on the tundra engine was a lie and it’s because they didn’t design the tolerances tight enough can’t believe they’re using the same bs machining lie again to cover up whatever the real reason is. Probably because the rear brake line is too damn close to the brakes and already caused an accident or something

People was talking about fitting 16" wheels on the 4G. If this is happening to trucks with OEM 17" wheels, 16" wheels are not going to be your friend. Presuming the trucks with 18" wheels aren't having issues with rear brake lines.
