Needed to extract it and found a SS bolt, same size to put in until I buy the new bolt8FFE06CB-9023-4F14-B86A-29DFB6328EE1.jpg

Hey thanks! I purchased the Rigid Industries 40025 Rock Light Kit. It came with 6. I used one of the included bases as a template to drill holes. I chose the "raised areas" of the hood so I could fish the wires through the hood towards the hinges. I tucked the wires as much as possible and ran them back to my Spod controller near the battery. I used a small diameter fiberglass rod to fish the wire through the hood. It was, kind of, a PITA but not impossible and it looks pretty clean IMHO. I was gonna do 4 lights but, it was so bright with 4, you'd need a welding hood to wrench when they were lit. It was stupid bright.
FWIW, the screws are titanium...because race car...

Mine is a '23 off road too. OEM battery totally died in a sub zero day a year ago. Got it replaced no problem on warranty. Seems like there may have been a batch or more manufactured with defect. If even only one cell is bad the whole thing will gradually weaken. Driver can't tell until one day, no/nuthing power.

I replaced my OEM once under warranty and then that one was getting weak so I installed a Motomaster Eliminator. That one died as well but was covered under a 5yr warranty so it was replaced for free.
You can really tell when it gets cold as to how fast the engine cranks even after a few days of sitting that it is going bad.

Mine doesn't have that. Maybe a sensor setup to send a message to warning system that level is low.

haha. 2K2 and canuck guy. Its a throw back to my ricer days building Subarus. During hard braking, at the race track, brake fluid reservoirs can weep. You will see quite a few companies making cylinder socks to absorb any seeping fluid. (Mostly JDM companies. Takata, Motul, Blitz, Greddy, Spoon, Nismo, Mugen, etc.)
Lots of rice rockets run them too.
This is a spare I had in my Subaru horde after (6) cars. It's just for fun and a throw back to some fun times for me.

It's a brake fluid reservoir sock. They're designed to keep the fluid from getting exposed to UV on motorcycles and catch spilled fluid, but the Honda guys and some others have put them on their cars. I don't think they do anything under a hood, but they might actually help if the reservoir is exposed to the elements.

In relation to batteries, I got a $40 off coupon for a TrueStart battery at my local dealership that expires at the end of the month, so I did some math. MSRP is about $315 (so $275 after discount) for the TrueStart, but I can get a regular Interstate for $125, or an AGM Interstate for $180 at Costco. No way the True Start is worth spending an extra $100 or $150 right? My battery is the original I think (my truck is a 2019) but hasn’t shown any signs of dying yet.

    Yeah.
Be sure to recheck torque according to instructions, mine were loose. And I hope you cut those bolts down a bit . . .

Would be interested to hear your take on the Rides after you have a chance to use them a bit.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
UV has nothing to do with it, it's to catch brake fluid that weeps through the breather on the cap when the fluid gets hot. They don't come on stock bikes, they would if UV affected brake fluid...or the reservoirs wouldn't be translucent.

It's kind of interesting how when I've been away for a while I come back here and the pages I am behind are getting less and less. There's only so much s*** you can do to your truck and I guess on this generation we are reaching the end of that line. That said I still do look forward to coming here and getting nuggets now and then.
