My buddy bought a plain fractal and it still pisses me off.

    The slats are just awesome.

I was looking at Corsair's 6500X in Walnut, but the reviews on reddit claimed the veneer was pretty bad.

edit: Antec's Flux case with walnut trim is kinda neat too.

Kinda wanna move into something smaller since I don’t watercool or have hard disks, but hard to justify spending money on pure cosmetics. I do like all the new wood accent options though

That looks awesome. I have a white mesh regular size North and it was a delight to build in. Wish I would have gone black.

Man Antec was king of affordable cases for a bit. I gave my last one to a kid at my work in 2010 when I found a raven3.

I want a fishbowl or the same fractal ideally, but its hard to spend money on cosmetics for me.

I'm still planning on Corsair's 4000d or 5000d in black if I can ever locate the mobo, cpu and gpu I want. At least with the 5000d you can mount a 360mm cooler up top.

Double check whatever software you're going to run can use the dedicated Intel encoder/decoder. I know it's pretty good, but software support is still patchy especially outside of windows.

Antec is trying to make a comeback. I know the tech tubers liked their new case, the Flux Pro, but I don't know what else they've come out with since then.

I like the idea of the temperature read out being built right in on the Pro version I posted above.

Always wondered if the 20 series was any good.

I skipped it having gone from 2x 1080 TI at launch to a 3070 TI.

I didn't mind my 2080Ti, but I was coming from a Radeon R9 390. Kind of like most folks buying 50 series cards, most aren't buying them because they have an amazing uplift. A lot of folks have been hanging onto 10 and 20 series cards, or AMD 500 or 5000 series cards, waiting for something epic to replace it.

Be wary, supposedly there's one version of the nVidia driver that's killed a few 5090s and possibly a 5080. No one knows yet. 572.16 is the driver that seems to cause issues, if there's another driver that's out or before that, try to grab that one if you can. Video talking about it:

    Which of course makes sense.

You were either "due" for an upgrade (the 20 series is over 7 years old) or you just want the latest.

Going to a 50 series from a 20 series makes sense for sure.

If anyone is looking for a 5070TI or below though, I'd wait to see what AMD is bringing to market. The leaks are all over the place, but if the AMD cards are good, nVidia might adjust price or people can switch teams.

I was considering a 5070ti but at this point it would be a lateral move (3080ti and an EVGA at that and that I overpaid slightly for) If I can squeeze another generation out of it (which I can), the 60series will probably be my next upgrade or if there's another card better than nvidia is puttin out.

I was just going to say, I don't know if the driver issue affects 5080s too or just the 5090s.

Like taking a dump on someone's birthday cake.

All the hype for the 50 series release, then someone manages to obtain of the rarest and most expensive 5090 cards and the driver then fries the card. :bananadead:

    Way to go Nvidia! :boink:
